This is it

chapter 7

Finally the day came, my parents arrived early in the morning.

All the children streamed out and noticed there were two cars. A small women stepped out of the car with three big pink bags. Another man followed who was taller than the women.

I suddenly knew who they were, Imachie's new parents. It wasn't too long before we saw an excited Imachie running through the crowd and into the couples arms.

She laughed and smiled and danced when they gave her a teddy. They also gave us Haribo's and we all shared those out later.

Then, another couple stepped out of the car. All fell silent. A light brown women with curly brown hair came out and stood there with a broad smile on her face. Then another man with small black fuzzy hair and stubble stepped out and also grinned.

" Go on, they must be your parents." Noni whispered whilst pushing me out of the crowd and into the open. Immediately, the couple turned round and stared at me. The women was pretty, with giant chocolate brown eyes and she was staring at me.

She walked towards me and beamed, then she took out a piece of paper and scanned it, then she scanned me and nodded.

"Beautiful resemblance. Nemdi... What a lovely name. My name's Natalie, and this is Carson. Sorry, he's a bit shy."

She turned around and made some crazy hand gestures at him. He shot up and went over towards us.

" Hello! My name is Carson and this is-"

" I already told her Carson!" She giggled and then started to cry.

I placed my hands on her shoulder. " T-Thank you for adopting me miss Natalie."

She wiped her eyes, " No! It's my pleasure! When I saw your picture on the website, I just knew  you were the one for us, no other."

I wiped my eyes too and hugged her. She hugged me so tightly that I could feel my lungs closing. But for some reason, I didn't care too much.

I could feel her baby bump and I felt the baby kicking. I pulled back and turned to the crowd. I raised my hands up and put a big thumbs up.

Noni suddenly yelled, " Three cheers for Imachie and Nemdi! May God give them peace! Hip hip?"

" Hooray!" they all cheered, clapping and jumping and singing.

Hours past, the paper work had been signed and finally, it was time to go. I packed my bags and gave Noni a book to read. " Fairy tales. The brothers Grimm."

Noni held it in her hands and then burst into tears.

" Y-You can't go! You just can't! You've become a sister to me! Don't leave! It's not fair! It's just not!" She cried and cried until she fell onto the floor begging.

As she shook, Indasola tried to pull her off. It took a while but finally, Noni let go. She sniffed and sniffed as I got into the car.

Noni asked New mama if I would have permission to write to them, and of course, the said yes.

Then, we set off.  As the crowd of children waved and yelled and sang, I knew that this was really happening. I was really leaving to America and I was really leaving my evil mama and papa. It was a new start.

As the sun set and the sky turned a harmonious painting of colours, I relaxed in my car seat.

" You love it in America."

" Yes, I think I will!" I said in an excited voice, bouncing up and down on my chair. Natalie slipped in a CD, it didn't sound like the normal music I usually listened to it, but it was still good.

Natalie noticed me tapping my fingers. " It's Maroon 5, this love. I love it. Maybe you do to."  

" It's got a good beat to it." I hummed the tune.

" You grasp things quickly! You'll be suited to America quickly! Oh my, I'm rambling aren't I? Haha!"

She went back to looking out the window and slowly closed her eyes.

" She falls asleep fast." Carson joked. " We'll be at the airport soon and, we've got a surprise waiting for you too."

I nodded, an then also closed my  eyes and fell asleep.
