Chapter 20: Plot Twist
Luke
A cruise ship.
That was the first thing that came to mind when Luke saw the scene in front of him. He stood in the middle of a packed pavilion completely filled with monsters. He started to freak out but realized quickly that none of them could see him. This was a dream. They couldn’t hurt him.
Suddenly, everyone who had been standing in the middle of the walkway backed up to the sides, allowing for a group of five to pass by. The procession was led by navy-cloaked person. The person had four bodyguards which consisted of two dracaenas and two Cyclops. The Imperial March from Star Wars randomly started playing in Luke’s head as he made his way out of the crowd to follow the newcomers. They made their way to the elevator, but rather than taking it, the leader took the stairs, much to the annoyance of their bodyguards. They went up five stories. Luke was lead to a penthouse suite that had a living room lavishly furnished with white shag carpet, glass tables, black furniture, and a crystal chandelier. Hannah lounged about on one of the couches with her arms behind her head. A blonde guy sat in the loveseat next to Hannah. He had his legs propped up on the glass coffee table.
“Ah, well look who it is!” he said.
“Ryan London,” the navy-cloaked person said in a feminine, jaded voice. “I would say it is a pleasure to see you, but it is not.”
“What’s with the accent?” Ryan asked. “Trying to become American?”
“No, actually, if I am going to pull off what I am planning, I need to be able to speak in many different accents to throw off suspicion and confuse anyone who might be following me.”
“Hush, Ryan. She’s going to be the reason we win this war with what she has planned. It’s quite brilliant. A plan worthy of Athena. She starts this week. With her brothers I believe.”
“Yes, with my brothers,” the girl replied. Her voice hitched a little, but if Hannah or Ryan heard it, they didn’t say anything.
“Out of curiosity, why the sudden change of heart? From what I remember, you dressed up in a Vegas showgirl outfit and jumped off of Hoover Dam to escape me,” Ryan pointed out. “You looked fantastic in that outfit by the way.”
“That was before I found out I was going to die. I am doing this to save my own skin. I would rather live, thank you very much. And you will never see me in that showgirl outfit again.”
“Shame,” he laughed. “I would love to see that.”
The cloaked figure made a sound of disgust as she removed her hood. Luke nearly stopped breathing. “Just because we are on the same team does not mean I will not hesitate to stab you with my stilettos if you ever say that to me again.”
“Ryan, enough,” Hannah chastised. The guy held up his hands in surrender.
In her regular accent, the now uncloaked person said, “I will start as soon as I can. My brothers will join first, as I have found out where they are. Next is a girl named Hallie. I’m still trying to find out where she lives. I’ll ask her father.”
“And you’re sure they’ll trust you?” Hannah inquired seriously.
“I’m sure, or else I wouldn’t be doing this.”
“Well then, what else do you need?”
“A place to practice. I’ve looked at a few places and have chosen one. I’ll send you the information on it because it does need some cleaning up. Other than that, unless anything comes up that I think of, that’s it for now.”
“Wonderful. This is going to be so much fun!” Hannah exclaimed, clapping her hands together.
Bryn smiled.

Silena
Derek had had another nightmare of Bryn’s death. It’d really screwed him up. Silena sat next to him, trying to comfort him, and she didn’t know how well she was doing. She figured not well considering he was still crying.
“I’m sorry, Silena,” he apologized, finally able to say a sentence without choking up.
“It’s okay. I’m always here for you, you know that.”
He placed his hand over hers. “I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
Silena smiled. “You’d be just fine without me.”
He looked at her, giving her a genuine smile, the first smile she’d seen him give since Bryn’s death two weeks ago. She gave him a kiss on the cheek. “I love you, Derek.”
“I love you too, Silena. You have no idea,” he responded.
They leaned in for a kiss but Luke barged into the room. The two demigods jumped apart, looking at him. Silena’s brother was panting as if he’d just run a mile. He had a wild look in his eyes.
“Luke?” Derek said, standing up. “What’s wrong?”
“Bryn…” he gasped.
“What about her?” Silena asked, wondering if her brother was having a mental breakdown over everything that happened.
“Alive… Hannah…”
“We know Hannah’s alive,” Silena stated, scrunching her eyebrows together in confusion.
“No, no, no, I know that,” Luke said, catching his breath.
“Luke, spit it out. What happened?!” Derek ordered firmly yet gently.
The oldest Jackson took a deep breath and looked his sister and his friend dead in the eye. “Bryn’s alive, and she’s fighting for Hannah.”
