"I just- I still- I can't-" he let a frustrated sigh as he ran a hand down his face.

"Yes?" you asked, trying to fight a giggle as you looked at his reflection in the mirror, still trying to get your earring to cooperate with you.

"I mean-" he licked his lips, trying to look indifferent but truth was he was very much interested and it showed at how he struggled to form the right words "Why would you want to go out with him again?" he finally breathed out.

"Why do you ask?" you asked back with a giggle and he seemed to stiffen for a moment.

"N-nothing." he shook his head "Nothing it's just, I'm curious. That's all."

"Curious or... a little bit jealous?" you asked with a smirk and his eyes widened.

"What?!" his voice came out high-pitched and you had to keep yourself from laughing at the moment "Of- of course I'm not! Why would I be?!"

"I don't know, you sound pretty jealous of my date tonight Mr Skarsgard." you said with a giggle as he scoffed, trying to brush you of. Shrugging and shaking his head but all a little too comically.

"I'm not, not at all!" it was a little squeaky and you adored it in all honesty "And it's not- not the point, alright?" he cleared his throat "I just want to know why exactly you'd go out with a guy like him when there are other men around that would do anything for you."

"Oh I'd love to meet at least one of them but I've got a bad luck." you chuckled.

"Maybe you should pay more attention then. They- He could be closer to you than you think." he said as casually as he could, stuffing his hands in his jeans pockets.

"Hmh maybe. Or maybe not." you sighed "Still not telling me why you're so bothered though?"

"It's just-" he shrugged, making a face "He's not something special and I- I don't see what you like so much in him. That's all."

"And again, a lil jealous there Skarsgard. Careful, I might realize something." you smirked, winking at him.

His eyes widened for a moment and he looked away, laughing humorlessly "Just- will you tell me why you want to go out with him so much?

"Because- Shakespeare." you giggled as he only frowned at you "He really likes him but, not the point." you shook your head "He's a really nice guy, that's why. He treats me well, we have a lot of things in common and he's a true gentleman. It's hard to find a good man nowadays... especially when there is a giant next to me intimidating every possible boyfriend." you added the final word with a look, giving him a smirk as he scoffed and rolled his eyes.

"I don't intimidate people!" he said, pretending t be offended but caring more about other things than that. Maybe hoping too he could intimidate this one as well.

"If they're not female, because you only seem to attract those, yes you actually do! All you have to do is glare and tower over them, which 99,9% of the time you actually can, and give them a few remarks and that's it! Oh and when it comes to every guy talking to me you- you ready to go all Penny on him!" you said with a small chuckle, grinning when you finally put on your one earring and went for the other.

"I don't go all Penny on them!" he scoffed, rolling his eyes.

"You literally laughed like Pennywise when that one guy came to pick me up for a date, three months ago, and you even more literally walked in the coffee shop I was with another guy dressed as Pennywise and offered him a balloon while using that creepy voice!" you exclaimed, looking at him in disbelief.

"Well..." you almost pouted, looking down at his feet for a moment "Details." he shook his head, taking a deep breath and looking at you "Besides, I thought you liked Penny's laugh?!" he tried to change the subject and his puppy eyes were making it easier for you to stay on track. So for just a moment you decided to focus on getting the earring right.

"You know I do, I am such a weirdo. Hence why I spend so much time with you." you shrugged, smiling when you heard him scoff but smirk nonetheless as he leaned against the doorframe "But that's not the point. What I am trying to say is, he's great and I really want this to work. He's perfect, and the way he treats me is truly unique. I want to see how this turns out."

"Yeah" his face fell as he chewed on his lower lip "I bet he is. You only deserve the best." he ended up whispering.

"Don't try to sweet-talk me Skarsgard." you said with a soft laugh "We still agreed that for tonight the house is mine, remember? I love my roomie but you know he is special."

"Yeah, of course. How could I forget. And f course he is." he muttered bitterly "We agreed to share a house whenever I'm here because we can never have enough time together and now you wanna kick me out for another guy. Low blow, (Y/n)." he shook his head and you rolled your eyes.

"Stop being so overdramatic and just- help me chose." you turned to show him two of the necklaces you thought would be appropriate for the night.

He sighed, taking a look at them and it only took him a second before he smiled softly "For the occasion I'd say the one the left. But we both know none of them is your favorite , so if you don't feel happy and good wearing it then what's the point of putting on any of them? I mean that's what jewellery is for, right?" he asked in a gentle voice and a smile formed on your lips.

"I'll go for it then." you whispered "Thanks Bill, I don't know where I'd be without you."

"Probably with that guy that almost ran off after the Pennywise laugh and balloon- oh wait, he did ran off." he muttered to himself, a small frown on his face as he looked at his feet and your eyebrows shot up.

"Come again?" you exclaimed and he looked at you "So it was your fault! I thought he'd never show up and- oh you asshole!" you shrieked, grabbing a nearby pillow from your bed and throwing it at him; although it only made him laugh as he dodged it "I thought I had done something and you- you denied it!"

"Oh come on, you know I just spared you the struggle! You were going to tell him off anyway!" he said with a chuckle and a smile slowly crept on your face.

"Maybe!" you shrugged, in the end giggling "But you could have told me, Bill." you shook your head laughing "I... wanted to be there and see his face." you confessed and his smile widened.

"Oh it was priceless! Really, you probably suck at picking boyfriends but you certainly know how to chose the ones that are most fun to mess with!"

"I'll try to take that as a complement." you shook your head with a laugh "Don't worry this one is... he's great. He's... serious about it, about me and I really needed this. I really needed him. He's really good to me and for me." you confessed "And he's not scared of Penny! You'll probably become best friends too, like the two of us!" you said and if you weren't so busy looking for your favorite necklace you would have noticed how his face face and he clenched his jaw, looking at the wall with a bitter look on his face.

"Yeah I bet." he breathed out "Maybe I'll give him a taste of Roman then." he said with a slightly smirk and cheerfulness, trying to mask his feelings. As always.

He'd become an expert in that over the years.

"Oh please no, that one will be hard to hold back!" you laughed truthfully and for a moment he actually smiled himself

"Yeah probably." he pursed his lips, smiling tightly as he was about to leave but stopped himself and turned, placing a hand on the doorframe "Can I ask you something?"

"Yes, anything."

"Why?" he asked I a low voice and there was no playfulness or teasing and joking anymore "Why him?"

You paused for a moment, your smile falling and you slowly looked up to lock eyes with his in the reflection of your mirror before you confessed with a hurt smile "Because it can never be the one I truly lov
