Nights like this was the worst times to be out. It was cold and dark, evil lingering in the shadows. Bad things happened at night. Of course everyone knew that. That's why most people stayed inside during this time. Though, some people didn't care. Some people weren't afraid, and believed they were on top of the world. Katsuki Bakugou was one of those folks. He had earbuds in, playing techno type music in his ears as he walked down an empty street. His mother was expecting him home soon with the groceries she sent him out to get. Bakugou took longer than expected and now it was pitch black dark. The fifteen year old teen held the bags of food over his shoulders, looking straight ahead. Well, until his phone buzzed in his pocket. He took it out, looking down at it. It was his mother telling him to be careful and safe. Bakugou scoffed at this, then shoved his phone into his pocket. He didn't like how she didn't think he could handle himself. He could! Bakugou didn't think anyone could kick him down. He was cocky, prideful and full of himself. The teen slowed down, taking his time only to upset his mother greater.
At this time another teen was walking home. Though his feet carried him fast. He didn't like being alone and out at night time. It scared him shitless. He had been out late at the library, studying for a test that was coming up soon. Aha, that was a mistake. Eijirou Kirishima walked fast, trying to get home as quick as possible. His head was racing fast, making him believe he was being watched or followed. The feeling made him feel sick to the stomach. Though, he suddenly heard a clicking sound. This made the little hairs on the back of his neck stand up. The thought of someone following him made him shiver and then look over his shoulder. No one was, but he moved after anyways. Kirishima continued to glance back many times, not really looking ahead of him. That was mistake because as he turned the corner his body collided with someone else.
"Hey watch where you are going fucker!" Bakugou snapped out. He didn't offer a hand to the other boy who had fell down. Kirishima had landed on his backside, which wasn't a good feeling. He already wasn't feeling good. "Are you fucking shaking?" Bakugou scoffed again. "What scared of the dark punk?" Kirishima winched at his words, feeling embarrassed.
Kirishima stood back up, dusting himself off. "I'm not scared prick!" He then realized who this was. Bakugou from school! Kirishima knew about the asshole, though didn't have classes with him. He's heard all the stories about how Bakugou has mouth off to the teachers, and how he's beat up a couple of kids for saying shit about him. Kirishima thought it was funny how anything made Bakugou mad. Though, right now nothing was funny. "It's just cold out, but I need to go." He said, moving past Bakugou.
Bakugou turned around and scoffed out, watching him walk away. "Scaredy cat!" He shouted. Bakugou knew who Kirishima was as well. He was a funny guy apparently. The boy who made jokes about everyone in the classroom. Bakugou disliked guys like him. He popped his ear bud back into his ear before turning the corner.
He wasn't expecting for what was coming next. He didn't know that Kirishima had felt someone watching him, and even if he did he'd make fun of him for it. As soon as he turned the corner, something cold pressed against his chest. The red eyed teen gasped softly as he met eyes with the person holding the gun. "What the fuck?!" Bakugou snapped out, resorting to anger instead of fear, which he was filled with both. More so fear. "You aren't a nice guy you know..." The other spoke, finger going to the trigger.
Kirishima wasn't too far away at all. He was witnessing this play out. He didn't know how to react or what to do. He seemed to be unnoticed as he pulled his phone out, dialing 911 quickly. He couldn't say anything so he let the women talk and send help. He set his phone down before slowly walking over to Bakugou and the person in black. As soon at Bakugou saw Kirishima, he scoffed. "Go! I can handle this!" Bakugou snapped.
The person with the gun chuckled out. "Oh? Can you now?" He hummed out. Bakugou growled out. "Yes i can!" Bakugou balled his fist up, ready to punch the man. Something stopped him. Kirishima had grabbed Bakugou's wrist. "Fucking hell! Let go crazy hair!" He snapped. Kirishima yanked Bakugou back, away from the gun.
Kirishima was shaking still as he held on to Bakugou's wrist. "Bakugou... come on.." He whispered to him. He didn't expect Bakugou to push him to the group again. "Stay out o-" Too late. A loud 'BANG' was heard.
The redhead's eyes widened, watching the other teen fall to his knees and onto the ground. Kirishima fell to his knees as well. "N-no..." He whispered softly, watching the blood pool out of Bakugou's chest. Tears welled in his eyes.
"Oops." The man smirked and then ran in the other direction. Looks like it was a bad day for him to, because he was gunned down soon by police men.
Kirishima pulled Bakugou's head onto his lap. "B-Bakugou. You dumb ass." He whimpered. "I told you we needed to run. I told you..." He whispered as his own tears dropped onto Bakugou's skin. Kirishima didn't personally know Bakugou. He didn't know him at all, but yet he still felt pure sadness. His heart twisted and ached with pain that felt so physical. "I told you to run... why didn't you listen to me!" He cried.
Red lights appeared quickly. Men and women jumped out of the ambulance and to the teens. Kirishima looked up at them. "P-please help him! Please!" He begged as if he needed to. They were here to help.
A lady pulled Kirishima away and set a hand on his shoulder. "Shhh son...shhh. Everything will be fine." She said. Kirishima couldn't help but watch as the others pulled Bakugou into the ambulance. He didn't speak to the women as Bakugou was taken away.
Kirishima's heart was burning.
{ A few days after }
Bakugou's eyes slowly opened for the first time since they closed that night. It was bright in the room, causing his eyes to shut again, then try to open slower.
"Look hunny! He's awake." A female's voice rang. Bakugou knew that voice. His mother. Where was he anyways? Bakugou opened his eyes all the way to a white room. The first thing he saw was his mother's red eyes. They were so sad looking, and glossy.
"Mom?" He whispered out weakly. She smiled down at him, gently stroking his hair.
"Hi hunny.." She spoke softly. Her voice made Bakugou relax. With a couple of looks around, he realized he was in a hospital room. Bakugou sighed out and looked back to his mother.
"What happened?" He asked softly. His mother looked up to his father, who gave him a look of pity. Bakugou didn't at all like that, but he ignored it.
"You were shot in the kidney... but both were damaged." The father started to explain.Bakugou raised an eyebrow. Then how was he here? If both of his kidneys were damaged then how did he survive? Seems like his parents knew what he was thinking. "A nice boy gave you one of his kidneys.." His mother said. This caused Bakugou to raise an eyebrow again. Who would want to give him their kidney? Bakugou wasn't polite to anyone. Before he could ask, another voice was heard. "Is he awake?"
That same voice. The voice of that annoying boy who was with him when he got shot. Kirishima. His parents moved out of the way as Kirishima wheeled himself in. "Bakugou. How do you feel?" He asked. Bakugou snapped just then.
"What the hell are you doing here idiot?" He snapped, regretting it a moment later since he caused pain. Kirishima shook his head.
"Easy there son. This boy gave up one of his kidneys for you." Bakugou's father smiled. "He's a nice boy as well... He was there at the shooting yeah?"
Bakugou's eyes widened. Kirishima was the donator? But why? Bakugou was rude to him that night, and before that he never even talked to him. Bakugou didn't understand why the hell Kirishima would do such a thing. The thought of Kirishima caring about him made Bakugou blush out. Bakugou could feel himself blushing as well! He was embarrassed. "Are you stupid?" He snapped out at the red head.
In truth Kirishima didn't want Bakugou to die. He didn't want the teen to be gone, and he wanted to do something about it. Kirishima hasn't ever liked Bakugou until now. He shouldn't have given his kidney away to someone as rude, and bitter as Bakugou, but he did it because he cared. A lot.
Kirishima didn't look insulted. Instead he grabbed Bakugou's hand and squeezed it softly. "Yeah I am... really stupid..." With that he gave a stupid grin.
