The next day came rather quickly and Haise was finally able to get some rest without the monster ruing his dreams. But he couldn't help but think about Shiro and how he wanted to see the white haired male once more. Thinking about it twice over his head Sasaki came to a sudden realization. The person in his dreams,Shiro and the eye patch all had white hair. Haise thought hard about the similarities but shook his head on disagreement, "There not the same person...They can't be. That's so ridiculous."
Getting up from bed Haise went to bathroom to wash his face when suddenly Saiko walked in with worry. "Maman are you OK?" The pudding haired male blinked, clearly confused. "I'm just fine Saiko. Why ask?"

Saiko frowned slightly, "You were crying in your sleep as you were mumbling something about...'Shiro don't leave me.' Yeah that's it." Haise couldn't remember anything about crying or mumbling otherwise he would have woken up. Nor did he ever recall having a dream in the first place without the centipede monster destroying the peace. The most puzzling part is why did he mention Shiro's name in his sleep? Haise smiled and gave a thumbs up.

"I'm doing much better now. Sorry if I worried any of you!" Saiko smiled and walled away slowly. "Don't worry as long as your OK! Also Mutsuki and Urie brought breakfast so don't worry about cooking anything! ~" This time he did frown, he loved to cook meals for his precious squad members who reminded him so much of children, but if they had breakfast already then there's no harm.

Walking downstairs in his work uniform and suitcase Haise was ready to leave in search of more clues. "Sasaki Sir do you want me to come with you?" Mutsuki called out and insisted he should come along. "Sure I could use your help ~" The male smiled and looked over at the rest of his members. "Alright guys we will be back soon OK? Don't get into any trouble and most of all don't make any trouble."
Urie and Shirazu agreed not to do anything ignorant or uncalled for like most of the time. Haise had to discipline those two somehow before they go out hunting ghouls and hurting themselves. As for Saiko... There was nothing to worry about. She usually stayed in her room playing video games and watching anime. Mutsuki and Haise left the house and started searching around 20th ward.

Anyone and almost everyone around the 20th ward couldn't recall ever seeing a ghoul wear a skeleton grin mask. Some people actually claimed they saw the ghoul but others claimed they saw a large number of ghouls in a group. So everything was practically mixed around but they did manage to get the location of eye patches hunting grounds. "Sasaki I think if we were to look around Takada building street we might find more clues?" Haise had gotten up quickly from sitting down and taking a break with excitement. "Great idea Mutsuki! Let's go right now!" They continued walking once more. It was a slightly longer walk but anything to solve the case of the cannibalistic yet man eating SS rank ghoul. On the way to the street Haise noticed a bookstore. "Wait up Mutsuki." The green haired male stopped and looked at his superior. "Something wrong?" Haise blinked and noticed that the bookstore was having a author signing book covers. He carefully read the name. "Sen Takatsuki..."
"Sent Takatsuki? Isn't that the name of the author that writes horror and drama?" Haise looked at Mutsuki. "How do you know all that?"
"Oh well she's popular that's why. I may have done some research on her." Mutsuki smiled and pushed Haise towards the bookstore. "I can tell you want to go in so just go and have fun OK? I know how much you like to read." Haise's eyes widened in surprise, "B-But what about you?" Mutsuki patted the males shoulder. "I'll go cheak the street. I can take care of myself so don't worry. Besides you need a break from work." Just like that he walked away leaving a bewildered but happy Haise. He walked in the bookstore and marveled at the wide selection of books from all types of authors. He wasn't interested in getting a signature from Takatsuki. Besides he didn't own any of her books even though they sound interesting.

Looking and carefully glancing at every book Haise had a hard time finding his favorite. Or at least a book that seems appealing to him. Suddenly Sasaki pulled out a book from the shelf and read it out loud. "Egg of the black goat...by let's see...Sen Takatsuki!" His eyes met with the female author with mint green hair and green eyes. She wore glasses and her hair was as Short as the female waitress at Anteiku. She glanced at Haise and smiled kindly then went back to signing books. "...well as they say don't judge a book by it's cover." With the new book in his hand the investigator intended to get his book signed by the author but bumped into a stranger. The stranger dropped there books and rubbed there head. "O-Ow..." Haise panicked and stood up reaching out to the stranger. "Are you OK?! I-Im such and idiot I'm sorry for being so...so..." Haise met his brown eyes with a pair of grey ones. He quickly recognized the white silvery hair and medium build body. It was Shiro.

"No please don't worry yourself it's OK really..." Shiro looked up and froze realizing it was Kanek- no Haise. Shiro got up without the help of the pudding haired male. "Ah, Haise it's you!" Shiro looked at the ground and hurried, trying to pick up his books. Haise bent down and once again bumped his head into Shiro's. "Ack-" Shiro growled and rubbed his head. "Watch it dork! are you trying to give me a concussion or something?!" Haise blinked and looked at the ground. "I...I'm sorry...again." Did Shiro call him a dork? Dork. dork...dork? Someone used to call Haise that name a lot in the past. But who?

"Hey Shiro can you help me with this box please?" Kaneki called out holding a big box of supplies and it was surprisingly heavy. "You can do it yourself." Kaneki wined and felt the box slipping. "B-But Shiro I can't ah-!" The box slipped and fell on the floor hitting Kaneki's foot. "Ow!" Shiro looked at his partner and smiled picking up the box easily without struggle. Then he smiled calmly but softly. "Your such a dork..."

"Haise...? Haise!!" Shiro called out and shook the others shoulders softly. Haise broke out of his daze and looked at Shiro. He felt something wet pour down his cheeks and chin. Slowly lifting his arm to wipe at his cheek the investigator noticed he was crying. "Huh...? Why am I..." Shiro stared at Haise in concern, feeling like this was his fault. "I'm sorry this has never happened to me before ~" Haise chuckled and got up handing over the books to Shiro. "Here are your stuff." Shiro took the books gladly and noticed the book the other had. "Egg of the black goat is a depressing story. You shouldn't read it." Shiro took the book from Haise's hands and replaced it with another. Haise looked down at the book. "Two half's of one whole? Wait it doesn't say the name of the author, what's it about?" Shiro smiled and walked away but before he opened the door he spoke out to Haise. "It's a story about two lovers who are separated for a long time but brought back together by fate. You could say it was there destiny to fall in love and become two half's of one whole." Shiro was gone. Just like Haise's memories of his past he wanted to remember so badly.

Getting out of the bookstore Haise was soon met with Mutsuki. "Sasaki there you are. You sure did take a while looking for a book." Haise giggled and lead the way to home. "Yeah sorry about that I had a hard time finding my favorite genre."

"Well what book did you get? Did you get to meet Takatsuki?" His brown eyes gazed upon the book. He smiled again. "No I didn't get to meet Takatsuki but I got a better book from someone different... Its called two half's of one whole. A love story actually." Mutsuki looked at the book and signed. "Looks like a good book. I'm sure you'll get stuck on it for a while."
Haise looked up at the sky that was darkening from getting late. Why did he have a sudden flashback of Shiro and a black haired stranger he never met? Maybe he was friends with them and Shiro was in a relationship with the stranger? Still even if it was a flashback why did it make him so sad and jealous at the same time? Why is Shiro so dam mysterious all the time? Well whatever the reason is it probably isn't important anymore. Anteiku didn't even seem to matter anymore though Haise felt strongly connected to that place and the people there. After all there's no such thing as true love.
