Dr. Amelia Shepherd and Dr. Meredith Grey only had one last patient to see before they got to go home and relax with the kids. It was an easy case, the patient only needed a consult from the two doctors then they could leave.
"You know, I don't get why they need two of us when he's stable and ready to be discharged." Amelia said in her I'm so tired I just want to sleep tone.
"I know it's dumb, I'm tired as well, but at least we get the exercise from walking up and down the stairs to the top floor." Meredith used a half smile that always made Amelia chuckle at her. She guessed it reminded her of Derek's signature smile.
The elevators to the top floor were out of order today so the two doctors had to venture up the flights of stairs. Finally they were there after a good 5 minute climb through the stair wells. They started walking towards their patient when an unusually loud vibrating sound came from out the window.
"Hey Mer... what is that?" Amelia shouted as they both dove out of the way...
