4. Speaking of newbies

"Did you get an email back from anyone yet?" Jimin asks Jungkook softly at breakfast one morning.

Jungkook grumbles, stuffing his face with more food and avoiding Jimin's knowing eyes.

"No..."

Jimin pouts, pursing his lips. "Well, that's okay. I'm sure someone will call you eventually, it's still early."

"Yeah..."

He still doesn't look up and there's no motivation in his voice. Jimin sighs, having a big feeling he's given up already.

"How was the bar last night?" He asks hopefully.

"Horrible... the crowd was dip shit drunk and booed me off for radio played PSY so I didn't get paid."

Jungkook stuffs his face some more and Jimin frowns. "Hey well... do you wanna come to the restaurant with me today? My workers have been blowing me up non-stop."

Jungkook glances up finally at that, his expression guilty. "See hyung I knew you being here with Jaesun wasn't going to be good, it's only been a few days and they already need you."

"Jungkook ah it's fine! They don't need me... it's just I have to put in some monthly orders okay? That's it. And even if they did need me I could easily take Jaesun with me."

"But if they need you then you'd have to work and Jaesun would be in the way."

"Not really. Usually, they only need me to baby them and make sure they're doing things right."

Jungkook doesn't look too sure so Jimin also adds, "I promise Jungkookie, things are fine. Hey also if we go right now you might be able to meet Hoseok! Remember the firefighter I told you about? He comes in every day for breakfast!"

Jungkook nods desperately, finally grumbling out, "Okay fine. Let's go."

And Jimin smiles triumphantly, hoping and praying that Hoseok would be there and could maybe offer Jungkook a job.

"Jimin ah! You're back!"

Jimin smiles brightly at the voice of his worker, Taehyung, who had been taking orders at a table before spotting him waltz in.

Jungkook follows him timidly and holds Jaesun's car seat close.

"Well not necessarily. I'm just checking in," he explains, bowing to a few regular customers before making his way around the counter.

He motions for an awkward Jungkook to take a seat at the stools with Jaesun.

Taehyung's face twisted in confusion. "Just checking in?" He asks before his eyes widen when he sees Jungkook place Jaesun's car seat on the counter. "Wah! A baby!"

He quickly heads for the already awoken baby and makes funny faces. Of course, Jaesun barely reacts and Jungkook can't help his snort.

"Hey, you're no fun!"

"He's only two weeks Tae," Jimin giggles from behind the counter as he fills out orders.
