19 - Old Friends

~Kaneki POV~

I wake up feeling better than I have in a long while. I look around to find that I'm in bed. I stretch out and roll over then close my eyes again I lay there for a second then open my eyes again. "Wait, how did I get in bed?" I look over to see Uta asleep right next to me.

"Huh, he must have carried me to bed while I was asleep" I muttered under my breath.

I laid there for a couple of minutes then sight and check my phone. I check my texts and see that Hide asked if we were still getting lunch today. "Oh shit, I totally forgot" I whispered to myself. I text him a 'yes' then I carefully get up out of bed and head to the the bathroom to get ready. When I'm done in the bathroom, I pick a white shirt from the closet and black pants from my drawer in the dresser then get dressed I've practically moved in but neither of us has specifically said anything.

I walk over to Uta's side of the bed."Hey, Uta I'm going to go meet up with Hide, so I'll see you latter " I said shaking him lightly. He grumbled still half asleep and said "okay" then turned around and went right back to sleep.

I rush out the door and hurry to Anteiku for brunch with Hide. Once I get there, I see Hide is already there through the window. I walked in and sat down across from him.

"Sorry I'm late" I said genuinely.

Hide smiled "It's okay, you aren't very late it's only been ten minutes or less; I was just here early that's all."

"I sill feel bad though."

"Well I guess you'll just have to make up for it by seeing me more often." He said with a big cheeky grin.

"Yeah, I'm sorry about that too." I feel super bad about that as well but with this whole me being a ghoul now and meeting Uta. I couldn't help but smile at the thought of when we met that day in his shop. When we met we definitely didn't take it slow but, I couldn't help the feeling deep down that he was the one for me. No one had ever caught my eyes before him and when he touches me I still get butterflies.

"Hello, earth to Ken Kaneki" Hide said waving a hand in front of my face. when I finally snapped out of it I blushed scarlet and looked away. "Sorry"

"What on earth were you daydreaming about?" He asked knowing something was on my mind.

"Umm, about that. I need to tell you something."

"Oh and what's that?"

"Well Umm, I may or may not have a boyfriend now."

"No. way. Really?!" He said looking astonished. "For how long?"

"With everything that's happened it feels like months but it's only been a few weeks."

"Wow, you are head over heels for this guy." Hide said making me blush like a tomato "So what's this guys name anyway?"

"His name is Uta. Anyway enough about me how have you been?"

~Time Skip To about an hour later~

"Would you guys like some more coffee?" The girl asked us both and the both of us said no so she left again.

(Ring. Ring.) I heard my phone ring and saw that is was Uta, I should probably answer this. I pick up the phone and answer "Hello?"

"Hey, where are you? Are you okay?" Uta said unable to keep the panic from his voice.

"I'm fine, I told you I was leaving to go see Hide this morning. I've been with him this whole time." I said reassuring him.

"Oh, I don't remember that." He said puzzled.

"You said ok, but I guess I should have made sure that you were really awake, sorry."

"No, it's ok. I just woke up and you weren't there so I freaked out again. I'm the one that should be sorry. I need to stop worrying so much." Uta said shamefully.

"Well, I'll be heading home soon so I'll see you then."

"Kay, love you."

"You too, Bye"
