Jaeden's POV

Wyatt and I are basically just running through the forest at this point, not to mention, it was getting kinda dark out. I'm not afraid of the dark or anything, it's just that the bad people come out more in the night.

We see a later underneath a giant tree with a little room at the top. He looks to me and asks if I want to go up in the treehouse and explore it.

"I'm always up for an adventure." I say holding out my hands to hold his bag.

Wyatt climbs to the top of the ladder and opens the trap door. He climbs inside the tiny room and is looking around.

"What is it?" I ask.

"Not much, just a mattress, an old bag of pretzels, a candle, and a whole lot of cobwebs. And I think a note. I'll bring it down and read it." Wyatt says in a hurry to get out of the treehouse.

"Why did you bring me over here anyways?"

"I needed an excuse to spend more time with you." He says climbing down the ladder. I smile to myself and look at the ground. Wyatt brings down an old piece of paper and begins reading it. The note was written in 1982 by a teen boy who left his family to go live in the woods with his boyfriend. In the 80s homosexuality wasn't as accepted as it is now. The note just said that he hopes the future is more accepting. Wyatt and I look up at each other and frown.

"That's so sad. We are so lucky to live in a different time period." Wyatt says to me.

Wyatt and I go back to his house and put some cookies in the oven and turn on a movie.

I sit down next to Wyatt with the plate of cookies. He puts his arm around my shoulders and I tense up.

"Sorry, should I not-"

"No, it's okay." I say leaning my head on his arm.

The next chapter will be the last!!! AHHHHH! -Angie 🖤
