Bella's P.O.V.

A different pack? - Ch. 10

Thank you to ALL of my fans. I love y'all

I looked from left to right in the hallway being careful and making sure no one was there before I left Scott's room. I didn't want to run into anyone, especially Scott. I think I was beginning to like Scott a lot more than I was suppose to, and it was scaring me. I had never felt this way about anyone in my life, ever. I just needed to get away from everything; everyone. Usually when I was like this I would go to Lydia's, but Lydia was here with me, but I think I should go there any way.

I quickly shut the door behind me as I walked out of the room and down the hall. I tried to be as quiet as I could but sometimes when I would take steps you could hear my feet hit the ground. The house was so quiet, so it made my footsteps louder, and I had no idea where everyone was. Usually the house was blaring with noise and there would never be a silence and now everything was just too quiet. It was like everyone disappeared.

As I continued to walk down the deserted hallway the air around me started to smell like a feral zoo. It brought tears to my eyes and it irritated me nose because it smelt so bad. I walked a little faster hoping to get away from the smell but as I walked the smell got stronger. It became so intoxicating as I went down the stairs that I fell to my knees at the bottom holding my nose, not able to get up off the ground.

I heard a sound coming up from behind me but they weren't footsteps. They sounded more like paws hitting the ground. I shook it off thinking it was someone from Scott's pack coming to get rid of the smell, but instead of it walking past me I heard the sound of cracking bones and popping joints come from behind me. It sounded like someone fell from a building and hit the ground with a lot of force, breaking every single bone in their body.

Their arms came around my waist and lifted me up off the ground. I was very dizzy and since the room was spinning it wasn't helping either. I had no idea who this person was and they weren't helping me either. As soon as my face came in contact with their chest the smell became unbearable. I tried to hold on for a few more minutes but as soon as we got to the front door of Scott's house I fell unconscious.

Scott's P.O.V.

I walked into the door of the meeting room and headed strait to the front of the room. I took my place in between Jake and Jason. Apparently something bad happened and only some one from the pack knew.

The room fell into silence as soon as I went up in front of my two betas. The person from the pack, turned out to be a runner (a runner is someone who runs perimeters). His name was Mason, he was a good friend of Jakes. Mason came up next to me and looked at me asking for permission to start his speech; I nodded my head in approval.

"As I was running I caught a sent that didn't belong to this pack, but to the South West pack, as you all know is our enemy. I followed his sent and it lead to this house. It turns out that he has been in side this house for about a day now. I have a feeling he is here to try and gain territory or hurt the alpha by taking his mate, who just happens to be a girl here, by the name of Isabella," he said looking at me at the part about my mate. I already knew Bella was my mate but the part about them trying to hurt my mate got me angry.

It also brought Bella to my mind. I didn't know where she was which is a surprise because I can always find her but a different scent was in the air; the South West pack. I ran out of the room, dodging the pack members around me, all the way to my room where Bella's scent was the strongest. I followed her scent down the stairs and through hallways all the way to the front door. Which was wide open.
