Good enough:- Prologue- 2 years earlier
"Imogen!" I squealed as I saw her sitting on the stool in the kitchen. She turned around on the chair and smiled at my presence.
"Hello my little sister Hope" She said with a smile, I skipped over to her and gave her a hug from behind and sat down next to her on the stool. I turned my stool to face her and I couldn't keep the stupid grin off my face. Imogen catches a glance at me smiling and shook her head with a smile.
"What?" She asked, turning her head to face me. I squealed silently, my happiness taking over me.
"It's your birthday!" I squealed and she immediately rolled her eyes. My face dropped at her reaction, why does she seem so sad about it?
"Ugh, birthdays are stupid" She said rolling her eyes and then playing with her finger nails. I crossed my arms over my chest with a huff.
"Birthdays are not stupid Immy! It's the best say of the year! Besides Christmas" I said with a cheeky smile. She shook her head and stood up from the stool.
"No it's not Hope. I don't like birthdays, so can we leave it at that" She gave me a stern look and walked away, and up the stairs and probably into her room. I sighed dropping my head, facing the kitchen again. I rested my elbows on the counter, my hands cupping my cheeks. Why doesn't she like birthdays? We tell each other everything. I don't understand.
"What's wrong chicken" I popped my head up to the sound of my mums voice. I shrugged my shoulders as she entered the kitchen, her work clothes clinging to her body.
"Why does Imogen hate birthdays?" I asked, releasing my hands from my face and resting them in my lap. Mum sighed as she poured the milk into her mug.
"Birthdays aren't special to her" She said and got out a spoon from the drawer underneath the bench. I raised my eyebrow, my confusion at 90%.
"But there special to everyone" I complained, throwing my hands onto the table in frustration. She stirred her coffee and chuckled.
"There not special to everyone kiddo" She said and looked up at me. I sighed and crossed my arms over my chest.
"But we are doing something special for her birthday" Mum said and I immediately popped my head up at her words.
"What, what!" I squealed silently, my happiness bubbling back.
"We are planning a surprise party" She whispered, so I could only hear. I gasped, a big smile spread out onto my face.
"That's excellent! I will go tell her right away" I said and stood up from my stool and started walking away until my mum called my name again.
"Hope!" She said and I stopped, turning around to face her.
"The whole plan of a surprise party, is that you don't tell her" She said, moving her hands. I raised my eyebrow.
"Because it's a surprise" She said and I finally catched on and burst into laughter.
"Right, sorry mum" I said and scratched the back of my neck.
"It's alright dear, now make yourself some toast. I have to go to work and you, have a very long day ahead of you" She said and finished off the last of her coffee and put it into the sink. She grabbed her bag from the counter and came around to me. She kissed my cheek and gave me a hug, and then walked over to the front door.
"But I don't know where to go" I said, she turned around with a smile.
"I will text you" She said with a wave and walked out the door, closing it behind her. I sighed and faced the kitchen again. This day is gonna be very long.

I slid into the pair of high-heel shoes that Imogen gave me at my sixteenth birthday, smiling down at them at how sparkly they were. I stared at my reflection in the mirror, a frown escaping onto my lip. I was never going to be pretty, no matter what anyone said I found myself ugly everytime I stared at my relfection. Once I looked away I walked over to my bed, sorting through my jewerly.
I heard the door open, turning my head to see who it was.
"Imogen" I said with a smile. She closed the door behind her and slowly walked over to me, her hands in her pockets. I looked back down at my jewellery, not letting the awkward tension get to me.
I picked up a charm bracelet, smiling at the cute charms that were on it.
"Mum bought that for you for your 8th birthday" Imogen said, popping my head up to look at her. I smiled and looked back down at the bracelet, examining it a bit more.
"I have one as well" She said. I looked at her and then down at her wrist, seeing the exact same bracelet I had. Except different charms.
"Pretty" I said and connected our bracelets together a chuckle escaping her lips.
"What's that one?" I asked pointing to the cross. She gently lifted it onto her finger so I could have a better look.
"I don't know, I just like crosses" She said, shrugging her shoulders.
"What about that one?" I asked pointing to the letter H. She lifted that one up to, a small smile forming on her lips.
"That one is for you, the letter H stands for you" She said and I smiled at her.
"I want to get a tattoo with your name on it" She said, staring off into the distance.
"I don't like tattoos" I said, making a disgusted expression. Imogen laughed and patted my shoulder.
"Tattoos are cool!" She protested. I shook my head, making her smile.
"Not to me they aren't" I said, shaking my head in disgust. She chuckled and released her hand off my shoulder.
"Whatever grumpy pants, and the question I was meant to ask you. Was why are you dressed like your going out?" She asked, raising her eyebrow crossing her arms over her chest. I gulped and started looking at different spots around the room.
"Hope?" She asked, in that 'what are you up to' tone.
"I'm going on a date!" I blurted out. Her eyes widened at my words, a small smirk forming on her lips.
"You said you didn't want to date until you were eighteen?" She said, my face going pale.
"Hope, is there something your not telling me" She asked, I shook my head.
"But this guy was different! He has a nice smile a great personality and what ever" I said, throwing my hands everywhere. She chuckled and shook her head.
"Okay then, what is this guy's name" She asked a smile on her lips. My brain was on a rampage thinking of names, one stood out very much to me.
"Harry" I said slowly. Thinking of that name at the top of my head
"Harry" She copied me.
"Sounds hot" She said and I slapped her arm gently. She chuckled and started walking away from me and over to the door.
"I will see you later Hope, I have something to take care of" She said and opened the door.
"Can I get an encouragement hug for my date?" I asked with a smile. She chuckled and walked back over to me, giving me a big bear hug.
"I will miss you sister" She whispered but I heard her, she pulled away her eyes watering. Before I could say anything she was out the door, gone. I sighed and shrugged it off, she was probably in one of her 'moods'.
