Kaleb smiled into the kiss, like he always did. Our kiss reminded me of the day that we met at that ballroom. I couldn't believe that I would meet someone so interesting there. To be honest, I didn't even like masquerade balls. I found them corny and boring but my friend dragged me to this particular one, which I will forever be grateful for. I saw Kaleb standing over at the punch table, where he was pouring a glass for himself. I said hi and introduced myself. By the end of the night, we had exchanged phone numbers. Now we were engaged and living together.
But all that was years ago. Kaleb had been missing for a year now, he still hasn't been found. Some people think that he's dead. I've never lost faith. I know he's alive. I just know.
