...
I'll go home

It was later that night that I had decided to actually treat my wound. It was turning a dark shade of purple and I could see many tiny pieces of glass stuck underneath my skin.

I sat on my bed with tweezers, a towel, and a cup of warm water. My door was locked and one of my mom's old mix tapes was quietly playing in my room.

My dad hasn't come home yet, so I didn't worry much about the noise.

That was, until I heard a car engine outside of my house, then it turned off.

I groaned and lazily got up to walk over to my mix tape player, taking out the tape. I opened the box next to it and opened it to all the other mix tapes from my mom.

I set the tape in there and closed the box, putting it under my desk.

From downstairs I heard the door open and close, as well as quiet moans.

I ignored it, as I was used to it, and walked back over to my bed, continuing to inspect my injured foot.

I heard footsteps outside of my bedroom door and listened closely until I knew they were in my dad's room.

I let out a sigh of relief and thought about the fact that the weekend starts tomorrow, therefore there won't be any women over.

I looked down at my foot and squinted my eyes trying to find the hidden glass. A piece of hair had dropped in my face and I carefully tucked it back behind my ear. I spotted a big chunk of glass and cringed at it.

Tap

I froze in place.

The noise had come from my window.

I turned to look behind me and saw nothing, and out of curiosity I stood up and walked to it.

I gently placed my hands on the window and pulled up, feeling the wind in brush through my hair.

When I looked down I almost screamed, and I jumped back from the window in shock.

Why the fuck is Richie at my house this late?

I saw Richie's hand pop up and his upper body came into view.

"Well shit, darlin', you ain't gonna help me out here?" He asked me.

I stood there in confusion, unsure what to do. Richie had pulled himself through the window and set his feet on the ground. He put down the window and I crossed my arms.

"You scared me!" I told him.

I paused, and I somehow knew Richie had thought his scare was hilarious.

"How did you know where-"

Richie turned back around to face me and gave me a goofy smile, he was amused.

"I live right down the road, I saw you walk back to your house on the first day of school and I just remembered where you were."

"Well I didn't invite you in, Richie."

"So? No need to be scared," he said to me.

I rolled my eyes. "Well I don't know you that well. And since I don't know you well I find it a little weird that some boy came crawling through my window."

He looked at me with a bit of disappointment in his eyes, and put his hands in his front pockets.

"Well then we should get to know each other, you know?"
