f o u r - get to know you

I searched through the menu slow and carefully.
I knew I made him annoyed so I just pretended like I didn't know what I wanted to order.
He walked around in slow motions and I noticed his impatience right away.

-What do you want?? He said slightly rude and glanced at me with an annoyed look.
-I don't know just order a latte for me or something. I said as I was about to pick a seat when he grabbed me by my arm not letting me take another step.

-aren't you paying for your latte? He asked and raised his eyebrows.
I laughed in his face making his face expression change.
-I thought you were my boyfriend, aren't you supposed to do what boyfriends do?
As in paying for your girlfriend? I said and smiled my most petty smile I could make.

-fine. he mumbled and rolled his eyes.
I got out of his hands and walked away leaving him at the counter.
I gave the café an over look before I choose to sit at a sofa by the biggest window they had.
I sat down and exhaled slow and briefly as I picked my phone up from my back pocket.

This was an idea Paul and James came up with.
They wanted us to take a coffee together and get to know each other to make this whole deal work better even though I knew it was pointless.

After a few moments of waiting Ethan came and sat down at an armchair in front of me.
He handed me my latte and I instantly started to sip on it.

We both went silent for a while not really knowing what to say. But I couldn't stand the silence so I thought I had to say something.

-well...tell me something about yourself. I said and Ethan turned his eyes from the window onto me.

-I guess you can find most of it on the Internet. He said with a slight grin, making me want to spit every single drop of my coffee in my mouth all over him.

I was going to give this a try and I was not going to be rude in the first place.
I took another sip of my latte and swallowed it preparing to sound as nice as possible.
-But I would like to hear it from you. I said and tried to fake a smile.
He didn't deserve this but I had to try at least when we were in public.

-well fine. He said and continued.
I'm Ethan Grant Dolan, I'm from New Jersey and I have a sister and I make YouTube videos with my twin brother..I guess. He said and went silent.
-is that all you have to say? I asked surprised and raised my eyebrows.
-yeah it's whatever, your turn. He said and exhaled loud on purpose.

-I'm Isabella Cristina Alvarez, my dad is Mexican and my mom is American.
I'm from Boston and I used to play volleyba-

He interrupted me in the middle of my sentence making me very annoyed since I hated when people interrupted me like that.
-I used to play a lot of sports as well. He said with a smile and I just nodded slowly before I continued.

-I'm about to be 18 and I love music, YouTube and my very best friend Vanessa.

He seemed interested in the last thing I said.
-Vanessa? As in Vanessa merrell? He said and seemed excited for some reason.
-um yeah I said and nodded slowly, slightly confused.
-oh wow.. Yeah I know her. he said and his grin became bigger
that's when it hit me.

He had played Vanessa just like he played every single girl he met.
Vanessa and her sister go to LA a lot since they're also YouTubers  and that's how her and Ethan met.
They hanged out a few times, they slept together and then he left her.
He left her heartbroken since she got way to attached.

And now I was supposed to be together with this boy, no fucking way.

I choose not to take this argument right now and I pretended like I didn't know anything. I just went silent not knowing what to say.

-soo, you don't have a crush or something like that? He asked me and I laughed a little at how stupid he sounded.
-no I don't think so why? I responded trying to keep another laugh from bursting out.

-well that's good, I guess. then I don't have anything to compete against then.
He said and smiled at me and looked me in the eyes, which made me uncomfortable and blush at the same time for some reason.

-if we look at the papers you already have me but if we're talking reality there's a long way to go.
I said and crossed my arms over my chest leaving a smile back at him.
He raised his eyebrows and let out an awkward laugh.

After a few moments he stood up and pushed his armchair backwards.
He walked around the table and sat down next to me.
He pushed his thighs as close to mine as possible, leaving zero space between us.
I looked up at him with a confused look and his face was expressionless.

-we might as well act like a couple now that we're in public.
He said and tried to make a smile appear on his lips but I didn't really buy it even tho I played along.
He grabbed my hand and twisted our fingers together like couples would, I didn't stop him and I wouldn't say I hated it...

I started to hear whispers a few tables away, I couldn't quite hear what they said but I instantly knew that they were fans of the twins.
I grabbed his hand tighter, tried to jump closer and played along.

I hope it was worth all this...
