Do you remember when none of this mattered? We held hands without fear.
When night came we filled it with laughter,
It's just a memory ago, trapped in here.
Do you miss being friends because we talked, not because we used to?
I told you all I thought, trust wasn't an issue.

Do you search for that again?
What existed back then?
We told each other short stories of monsters but we knew,
together we were stronger as two.

Can you recall what I speak of so dearly?
Laying in the streets, chalk on our palms.
Counting clouds, imagining fearlessly...
Calling each others homes our own.

To this day I look and see it
It's engraved in the streets on the concrete outside
All around, we could return to it...

Just remember the memory inside.
