She didn't ask for the glittering things, nor did she ask to arrive here. She so desperately wished that they would all understand that. But something told her that the strange folk here in this land, just wouldn't understand. Her only chance was to do what the beautiful woman said, and find the man who could help her.
And, although her companions were not what she was accustomed to, she was indeed happy that she wasn't alone. She was quite sure she would've turned back if she was. But now, she had an even stronger resolve to continue and not tarry. She was not the only one seeking help, and she knew now that the only way she was to return home, was if she helped the people around her. Anyways, it was only the right thing to do, and they too wanted to help her.
Dorthy skipped a little faster down the yellow brick road. Yes, she hadn't asked for the ruby slippers, and they had only caused her more trouble. But that could not stop her now. For the Scarecrow needed a brain, the Lion courage and the Tin Man a heart. Then there was her, she needed to get home. If only OZ wasn't so far away....
She nodded to herself, no. She would not be dragged down by fear and disappointment. If she wanted to stop the witch and get to OZ, help her friends and return home, Dorthy would have to do only three things. Use her courage, use her brain and love with her heart.
Only then, she thought, can I get back to where I belong.
