My hands hold my stomach as the pain grows incredibly stronger. Jason is by my head, which is rested on his knees as I lay on the floor in agony. Mother has sent Daisy for help, I don't know what for though?
The only word I heard my mother say was “Premature” Before Daisy ran out of the church.
I'm beginning to feel frightened as not only can I hear myself getting louder by the minute, but i'm also starting to feel the urge to push!
Jason is trying to get me to talk to him but the only words I can get out in between my screams are “Help” and “Hurt”
Daisy has returned with Lauren and Callum followed by two men who look like doctors. “What's happening?” Lauren questions my mother. “She gone into early labour!” replies my mother who is ripping away at my trousers. Lauren's mouth drops in shock “But I thought you both said Sean destroyed her chance of having a baby!”
“She can't but before she got stabbed by Sean she was pregnant and the baby managed to survive, so this baby is the last she will be able to conceive and carry!” Daisy replies answering Lauren.
Since My mother didn't. As her full concentration is on me “Well I think it's obvious that she is pregnant because I can see the baby's head!” My mother says.
It's as if my mother has just lit a bomb because immediately everyone starts to go into action. Lauren turns to Daisy “Daisy, can you do me a favour, can you look after Callum whilst I help your sister!”
Daisy obediently agrees and leads Callum out of the church. “Mother.... It hurts!” I gasp in between breathing and screaming.
But she doesn't reply, Lauren does “Jenny, you have to listen to me okay, We're going to get the baby out so when I say push, you have to push as hard as you can! Do you understand?” I look at her scared yet annoyed “Of course I do I'm not stupid!” I say this more harshly than I intended but I don't bother apologising as I can do that after the baby has been delivered!
The doctors begin to question Jason, “How many months has she been pregnant?” “Has she had any problems through out the pregnancy?” But all Jason's answers are the same “I don't know preciously!” He must feel really useless at this particular moment in time, not knowing anything about his own child.
I look up at him, wanting this moment to end. The moment where I am in extreme pain. “Jenny!” I look towards Lauren and my mother who are by my legs preparing themselves to catch the baby. “It's time... You have to push and fast!” I don't waste no time as soon as they tell me that, I push with all my might.
Jason has hold of my hand whilst saying to me “Come on Jenny, you can do this only one more push then our family will be complete!”
Yeah okay. About thirty pushes after he says that, our baby is born. I manage to catch a small glimpse of him before he is taken away from me.
I want to follow after the doctors who has taken my child, but no matter how hard I try to stand up, I'm too weak.
Jason has sat me up and started patting my back whilst saying over and over again “Well done you've done it!” I look up at him and give him a light kiss on the lips. “Jason, I think our baby is dead.... I mean I've only been pregnant for what? Six, seven months haven't I?”
He shakes his head at me “Don't talk like that of course our baby isn't dead!” I look up at him, and the first thing I notice is the joy in his eyes, that makes my heart melt. But that emotion is short lived as my mother comes running in and by the grin on her face I can tell it's good news. “Jenny, darling you've done it! You've had a baby girl, however she is a premature baby and has been born two months early so at the moment she is in a incubator which is helping her become stronger by the minute!”
