When I came to, I could hear a clinking noise. Keeping my eyes closed I wondered what could be making that noise. I finally decided I should check out what was happening, so I opened my eyes. Connor wasn't laying next to me like he usually is. I sat up and looked around the room. Still no sign of my best friend. "Connor?" I called, my voice cracking because of its dryness. "Yes?" he popped his head in the door. "What are you doing?" I asked. Instead of answering, he stood there staring at me. I was confused so I self-conciously looked down at my body. The covers were pooling around me and I wasn't wearing any clothes. As soon as I realized this, I quickly covered myself and looked back at Connor. A grin was just leaving his lips as he tried to compose himself. "Hold on a minute" he held one finger up as he slipped back out of the room, leaving me throughly confused. Holding the blanket around me incase Connor came back, I went to the closet to dress myself for the day. Just as I was sliding back in the bed, I heard footsteps. I looked up and Connor was holding a tray with food on it. "I made you breakfast" he said smiling shyly. I was so surprised all I could do was kiss him. "Thank you, you're so sweet" I told him, grinning from ear to ear. Connor walked back out of the room and came back with food for himself. After yesterday, I sure was hungry. We sat in a comfortable silence as we ate our breakfast. I was thinking about the day before and how amazing it was. We were each other's firsts and it felt so good knowing I was the only one he'd ever touched like that. I remembered a long time ago when we were in middle school. Connor and I had the same health class and we were learning about sex. We walked out of the class together, our faces still red from the horrendous torture of learning about the birds and the bees. As we arrived at my locker, he whispered to me that he wanted to wait for "the one". "But how will you know if she's 'the one'?" I asked him, rolling my eyes. "I'll just know" he smiled and went on his way to class. As I was reminiscing about our past, I hadn't even realized a smile had been glued on my face for the last few minutes. "Whatcha thinking about?" he asked, snapping me out of my reverie. "Just about us" I answered as my smile grew. If he was saving himself for the right girl, then I must be "the one".
