“That was so good!” Akane complimented, then looked down in thought.
“I wish I could cook like that...” She muttered sadly. I gave her a sympathetic look, and was about to attempt to cheer her up, but Ranma said something first.
“Akane, you and I both know that you could never cook something like this. You burn down the kitchen every time you try!”
“Ranma-” Akane was about to snap at him, but I hit him in the face with a frying pan.
“OW-”
“Shut your pie hole you big baby!” I snapped at him, then turned to Akane.
“Never give up Akane. If you want to be able to cook, never stop trying. I bet you’ll be great someday. It just takes time to grow. Everyone learns at a different pace than someone else. So keep your head up. I could even help you once you decide to start bridal training.” I smiled and winked at her, motioning to Ranma.
“WHA… Yeah, as if!” She snapped slightly. I laughed, taking their plates and cleaning them.
“Well, we should get going.” Akane started. I walked them to the door.
“I’ll leave P-Chan with you. I don’t want you in here all alone.”
“Thanks Akane. It means a lot. Goodnight you two. And Ranma, stop being an insensitive ass.” P-Chan started squirming, as if laughing at my comment. Ranma went to punch him but I dodged and kneed him in the face.
“Goodnight you two.” I repeated, ushering them out the door.
“See you in school in a week.” I nodded.
“Alright. Later you two.”
Once they left, I looked at P-Chan.
“It’s obvious they have a thing for each other.” He seemed to squeal in protest. I gave him a sad smile.
“Yeah, I’m a little envious too.” I walked over and sat on the couch.
“Wanna watch a movie?” He didn’t seem to protest so I ordered a scary movie on demand and made popcorn. I shut the lights out as soon as the movie began.
“Don’t go in the closet…!”
I whispered, hugging a couch pillow close to me and bringing my knees to my chest. Yeah, I was getting way too into this scary movie. Still holding the pillow, I grabbed some popcorn and offered P-Chan some without my eyes leaving the screen.
“She’s gonna open the closet…! Run away…! He’s gonna kill you….!” Just as she opened the closet in the movie, it was dead silent. I was about to reach for the popcorn now resting on the coffee table, when I heard a sudden noise that made me jump, and sent flying.
“GAH!”
I let out a huge yelp as I jumped, then ended up rolling behind the couch, landing with a loud plop and face planting into the floor.
“Ouch…” I mumbled. P-Chan seemed to be laughing at me.
“Shut up! It’s not funny!” I mumbled angrily, rubbing my face and pausing the movie then making my way to the door once I realized the spontaneous noise was a knock. I got up to find Ranma at the door.
“Can I help you?”
“Yeah.. What was that noise?”
“Heheheh… N-nothing! Nothing at all!” He raised an eyebrow at me but dropped it.
“Anyways, we’re having some challenger show up at the dojo tomorrow, so I was wondering if I could leave Ryoga’s stuff here? He left it in the dojo and I haven’t seen him.”
