Nightmares turn into REALITY

Silent Cries

"Mom, wake up!"
My 4 year old was crying, holding her teddy bear in her hand. Her face was all red and she had bruises.

"Oh my God! Lily! What happened? Who did this to you?"

I was terrified. To see my daughter with those bruises made my heart ache for her.

"Daddy did this to me," she said.

I wish I could tell her that her Daddy wasn't alive anymore. He died an year ago while he was drinking and driving.

"No Lily. Daddy didn't do this to you," I said.

I woke up with a startle.
A nightmare again.
My daughter died an year ago just an hour before her Dad died, after killing her.

I was about to go back to sleep just when I noticed the teddy bear right beside my pillow.
