Ross' POV;

"I'm sorry Ross.." Maia spoke before tears poured out of her eyes. Did she really just break up with me?

I watched her exit off set of Austin & Ally. and I felt something fall down my cheek. I brushed it off with my thumb and realized that it was a tear. Maia Mitchell just broke up with me...

I heard footsteps walk toward me. The person's shoes clicked against the floor loudly. The set was silent since everyone was at lunch in the break room.

"Ross?" I looked over and discovered Laura staring at me with sympathetic eyes. "You okay?"

"I'm fine," I replied harshly. "Sorry, that was rude. I'm just a little upset. Maia broke up with me."

"Oh my god, Ross! I'm so sorry."

She rubbed my back for support. "It's cool. We just had our differences."

She sighed. "Well, I'm going to head to lunch but if you need anything, just shoot me a text, okay?"

"I'll be sure to." I smiled and watched her walk away.

Kayden's POV;

I walked into the diner and got my apron. I had just moved to California and quit my old job back in Florida. The diner looked pretty decent so I decided to apply for the job and a couple of days later, I surprisingly got the job!

I put my hair up in a messy bun and started towards my first order of the day.

I walked towards the lonesome table by the window and saw a boy probably around my age with blond, shaggy hair. He was really adorable.

"Alright, my name is Kayden and I'll be your server today." I handed him a menu.

"H-Hi." He studdered as I approached the table.

"Hey," I smiled. Act cool, Kayden. "May I take your order?"

Ross' POV;

I walked into the diner hesitantly and sat at my usual table. I waited for my usual waitress, Rebecca, to come over and give me a menu.

I was playing on my phone when I heard a voice from above me. Rebecca's voice sounded really different. I looked up and saw someone that I've never seen in this diner before. She was.. beautiful.

"H-Hi." I managed.

"Hey," She smiled. "May I take your order?"

I took the menu from her hands gently and looked through the choices, even though I already knew what I was getting. "I think I'll just take the cheeseburger. Thank you." I handed back the menu and smiled. This girl was absolutely stunning. I needed to know more about her.

"Great! Well, I'll put your order in and bring that right back to you." She started to walk away but being the idiot I am, I stopped her.

"Wait," I called out and she turned around with red cheeks. "I'm Ross." I winked. God Ross, you're such an idiot.

She smiled and her cheeks turned a darker shade of red. She walked away into the kitchen.

"Earth to Ross." Someone waved a hand in front of my face. I snapped out of my thoughts and turned towards my sister, Rydel, who was now sitting across from me in the booth.

"Rydel, what are you doing here? I thought you were hanging out with Ratliff." I asked, trying to make it sound like I cared. I was way too focused on Kayden.

"Well," She began. "I was but he had some thing that he planned with Rocky so he blew me off basically." She looked down at her hands.

I sighed quietly. "I'm sorry. But Ratliff is Rocky's best friend. Maybe you need to understand that they would like some guy time. You always hang out with Ell."

"But I'm his best friend too! He's a jerk." She complained.

"Rydel, he's not a jerk. He's probably getting tired of hanging out with you."

She looked up at me with her eyes widened. "What?"

Great job, Ross.

"I didn't mean it like that! I meant that.. uh.."

She shook her head. "Thanks for the help, Ross. You're a great brother." She exited the diner and remained angry at me.

I didn't have time to feel sorry for her. Kayden.. Just the thought of her name makes me all tingly inside.

Stop it, Ross. You've known her for like 2 seconds.

"Alright, your cheeseburger." Kayden set the plate down on the table. "Enjoy." She smiled.

"Can I have your number?" I asked without thinking my thought through.

She blushed then raised her eyebrows. "My number?"

"Yeah, sorry, uh.. that was a stupid question."

"No, of course," She winked and wrote her number on her notepad then tore the page out and handed it to me.

"Thanks! For your number and the cheeseburger. Heh." I scratched the back of my neck nervously.

"No problem. Enjoy.." She headed towards another table and started taking their order.

I stared at her for a few moments and then turned back towards my cheeseburger. I bit into it and smiled. What an interesting day.
