Takeo's pov
"Oikawa Takeo, congratulations I'm making you captain" our captain congratulated me and my eyes widened as everyone clapped
"Thank you, I won't let you down!" I smiled, I'm now a third year and a captain of a volleyball team! By now nii-San is a 2nd year at Aoba Johsai, I can't wait to tell him the great news.
"Well then, let's start with practice and how about our new captain leads this one?" Coach smiled
"Yes sir!" I shouted "start with stretches and make sure to warm up!"
Everyone went of in a circle and started stretching.
A week before the tournament
'That's not enough!' I noted as I landed down 'higher! The team is counting on me!' I screamed in my head as I landed from my jump serve "one more" I huffed out as I tossed the ball in the air and smashed my palm with the ball, it zoomed across the court 'YES!' I cheered in my head but my landing got messed up and before I knew it I was on the floor unable to stand up. 1...2...3..." AHHHHHHHH!!!!!" I screamed in pain as people ran in the person was coach "what happened!?" He asked
"I was practicing and I landed wrong and now I'm here" I responded " and I can't get up..." I added " I'll call an ambulance..."
At the hospital
"I'm sorry but you sprained your ankle and it's quite serious but it can only be healed with time, it'll take a month the most..." the doctor left
'I don't have time! The tournament IS IN a month I was in the middle of thinking when the door slammed open and out came my brother.
"ARE YOU OKAY?" He shouted clearly worried "I'm fine...it's just..."
"What?" " I'll heal in a month at most but the tournament IS in a week so I won't be there when it starts!"
"Your health is more important right now" he hugged me " it'll be fine plus the team has extra setters or substitutes, just rest for now" he spoke softly
" SHITTYKAWA! Don't run of like that!" Iwa-chan came in shouting
"Well my poor helpless brother is in hospital I'm sure they understand"
" yeah it's fi---HEY WHO YOU CALLING HELPLESS!" I Screamed as
Iwa-chan hit Tooru on the head then looked at me "and you, are you stupid? Practicing is fine and great, but you need to know your own limits of what you can do, if you don't, you're not only putting yourself in danger but the rest if the team as well" he told me with a serious face then hit me in the head too
" you guys act like 4 years olds seriously 😒 " " SO MEAN IWA-CHAN!" Me and my brother shouted at the same time and laughed.
Volleyball tournament. The king all alone.
"Tobio-Chan you need to connect with the team!" I told him
"Yeah, yeah whatever they all need to be faster" he replied
"Kageyama if you do everything by yourself you'll end up now----"
"Whatever the whistle blew so I got to go"
I knew it would lead up to this eventually... he's a dictator, a selfish king... and his pride lead to his subordinates abandoning him, I guess this is
what you call 'Karma' huh? To bad this was our last tournament together...
We lost.
"Line up!" I shouted as everyone lined up
"THANK YOU FOR THE MATCH!" We shouted and turned around
"THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!"
" grab your stuff, lets head back" I walked towards the bus as tears rushed down my face "dammit! If it wasn't for my stupid accident then we might have won..." I sat at the back as everyone began to fill the bus, once everyone was in we took off, tomorrow was the 3rd years graduation day meaning I'll be a first year at Aoba Johsai... before we knew it we arrived back and everyone was in the gym "well...today is the last day us 3rd years will be with you in this gym and (random name)! Congratulations I'm making you captain I hope you lead this team well" I finished as everyone clapped "thank you for your effort dismissed!" Coach said as everyone left the gym and started to head home.
I walked up to the door and opened it " I'm home!" I shouted "Takeo! We saw the match I'm so proud!" " yeah!"Tooru agreed "but I didn't do anything..."
"Takeo..." "all I could do was sit there and watch our team crash down"
"Call when dinners ready" I walked up stairs "Don't worry I'll talk to him" Tooru said as he went after Takeo.
