((This is a highschool Daron fanfic. I will probably do a present day one as well one day!))
You felt your heart beat fast as you were pacing down the hall staring at your schedule. It was your first day at your new highschool and you had no clue how to get to the class. '202 202 202' The class number ran through your brain. Not paying attention to anything but the numbers above the doors. You bumped into something and dropped all of the books you carried. Just like that the bell rang and you were late to class.
"Watch it!" You looked up to see a boy looking at you angrily. "Going to pick up your books or not?" He pointed to your books at his feet.
"Oh! I am so sorry!" You scrambled to the floor picking them up and he started to walk away. "Wait, please!" You yelled grabbing the rest and standing up.
The boy let a sigh loose and turned to you. Raising one of his thick eyebrows.
"How do you get to, uhh, 202!" You looked at him sweating.
"Follow me." He brushed past you and you followed. The halls were empty. He led you to the corner of the hall and pointed at a door. When he opened it a teacher turned to him.
"Daron! What are you doing here? Don't you have class?" A man walked up.
"Sorry! This girl bumped into me and begged me to help her! Some newbie! So much for being good." He crossed his arms angrily.
"Sorry Daron. Hello there, you must be Y/N. Take one of the empty seats please. I am Mr. H." He smiled at you and you smiled back rushing to a seat.
You turned back around. Mr. H was writing Daron a pass. Daron thank goodness he helped you. You turned and the class was staring at Daron as well. It was silent. Still. They were almost nervous. You did not understand. The rest of the class went smoothly. You liked Mr. H. The class was English. After that class was Art. You asked Mr. H to give you directions before heading off.
You were first in Art and the teacher was a woman. Mrs. Annie. She assigned you a seat in front. A girl sat on your left side and she got her art project out. 'Switching schools in the middle of the year is stressful' You thought. You turned to your right fast as a hard art project slammed on the table. You shook a little.
"Tssk, You are late again Malakian." She looked up to Daron that sat to your right. "Your excuse?"
"It is just Art class. Who cares? I am the best artist here anyways..." Daron replied staring at her.
"I do not have it in me to fight you Daron. Very well." She shrugged.
You wanted to thank him properly for helping you earlier. But, you could not find the words. Talking to new people was always hard for you. You got assigned the project and started working immediately.
"Hey clumsy. Pass me a pencil." You heard Daron say.
"M-Me?" You said facing him. You grabbed a pencil and gave it to him. "Thank you for the help earlier by the way." You said nervously.
He nodded and resumed his drawing.
"I'm Y/N. So now you know my name too." You smiled.
"Oh, I knew your name. I just thought clumsy fit better." He said not giving you eye contact.
You saw Daron again in lunch. That is when everything clicked. Daron was walking when a group of boys spit out a spitball at him. His skin turned beat red and he walked up to them. He punched the boy as hard as he could in the face. You were shocked and he was taken to the office.
"What was that about?" You muttered and a girl behind you answered.
"Daron Malakian." She shivered. "He used to bully everyone. Now everyone bullies him...he is not weak though. He disgusts me. Hi though, I'm Kaylieh." She said smiling.
You sat with her in lunch and asked her a million questions about the school, herself, and a few about Daron.
"You sit next to him in Art? Good luck! Hopefully he does not splatter you with paint." She made a disgusted look.
After school you walked to your car and spotted Daron. He was walking alone and had a piece of bright yellow paper in his hand.
"Daron!" You called and he looked. He still looked angry. Why did you even call him?
"What do you want?" He walked up to you. "You have a car?" He asked.
"Need a lift?" You asked proud of your car.
He got in the passenger seat and set the yellow paper down. You started to drive and he gave you directions.
"You got suspended?" You motioned to the paper and he nodded.
"Was not even my fault! They started it!" He huffed. "Why am I in your car anyways? I do not even know you..."
"Your house is a far walk Daron... I could let you out." You said nervously.
"Nah, just do not kill us Clumsy." He said and you giggled. Which shocked him.
"I was told some things about you. Not many people like you, huh?" You asked sadly.
"Whatever. I have a guitar. I'm fine." He said looking at the yellow paper.
When you got to his house he hesistated to leave the car.
"Everything okay?" You watched him stare at his house.
"...My mom...she will kill me for this." He waved the yellow paper. "Take my guitar away from me..."
"Well, I do not have to be home for awhile. I could come in and study with you. If she sees you studying with someone maybe she will be happier with you..." You said nervous.
He stared at the house a few more moments and nodded slowly without facing you. He stepped out of the car and you followed him inside. He called out for his mother and you waited with him. By looking around the house you could tell his family was not entirely poor. He had an okay looking house. It was decorated with lots of artwork.
"You are home so early..." His mother said as she walked into the room. She spotted you and a giant smile formed on her face.
"Who is this lovely girl Daron?" She smiled and held her hand out to you.
"I'm Y/N. Hello Mrs. Malakian." You shook her hand.
"She is just from school. I wanted her to help me study Chemistry or something." Daron said fast and impatient.
"I'm Zepur. Nice to meet you. You can study in Daron's room." She said.
Daron led you down a hallway into his room. You stood awkwardly as he shut the door.
"Door open sweetheart!" Zepur called and he groaned opening it.
"Sit on my bed I guess." He plopped on his bed and you sat next to him.
You took out the schoolbooks and pencils. He shoved his bookbag beside him and looked down. He started twirling his long hair in his finger. All of a sudden he broke the silence.
"Who told you about me Y/N." He stayed looking to the ground.
"Uhhh Kayliegh did." You said.
"Oh...figures. One time in elementary I put a bug in her hair." He said softly.
"Why?!" You could not help but laugh at that.
"She stuck her tongue out at me during recess, like a bitch." He said and smiled a bit looking at you.
"So you do smile..." You thought out loud.
"I am not an alien!" He pushed your arm angrily.
"Oh! Sorry I did not mean to say that outloud." You rubbed your arm.
"Geez, Clumsy." He rolled his eyes.
"I let you ride in the car with me because I could not believe you were mean. What happened at lunch was not all your fault. Just control your anger Daron..." You admitted to him.
"What are you, my mom?" He asked pouting.
"I want to be your concerned friend..." You said looking around his room.
He fell silent. You packed up the textbooks.
"I know you are not going to study. So I will just set these away." You said smiling and he was looking at you.
"Hello? Anyone in there?" You poked his arm.
"Thanks for coming in. I have not talked to anyone in awhile. I accept." he said crossing his arms.
"Accept?" You tilted your head.
"This whole friendship thing." He said waving his arm around.
"Okay!" You smiled and stood up. "Hey! What are these?" You picked up photos off his dresser.
He stood behind you and saw what you were holding then reached for them. "Do not look at those!"
"Are you wearing makeup in these?" You asked and he took them.
"You say one word to anyone and I will beat you!" He yelled.
"Daron, I thought it was cool! It looked like rocker makeup!" You smiled at him.
"Yeah, that is what I was going for." He set them down. "I probably look weird..."
"You look like a rockstar." You laughed. "I have to go home now. I'll see you in a few days, Mr. Suspended." You smiled at him.
"...Can you...give me a ride home tomorrow though? I'll wait where I was today." He said looking down.
You nodded. "Daron, you will be okay. I know how worried you are about your mom." At that he shrugged.
He led you back outside and his mother waved goodbye to you. Once you were both outside you smiled at him and waved goodbye. He waved back and tried to resist smiling. Once you drove off you worried a bit for him. You also felt bad for him. But why? You just met this boy. Driving him home and 'studying' with him was out of your kindness. He did accept a friendship. So you just thought of him in that way now. And you did feel bad for him. He seemed like a nice but troubled boy.
