The Life of Key (A Naruto Fanfiction)

Chapter One: New Home...Maybe?

A little girl no older than twelve was walking through a forest, it was hard to tell if she had brown or black hair due to her being so dirty. She was wearing a once white shirt and black baggy pants, her clothes were riddled with holes. She had no shoes instead she wrapped them with bandages, she was limping and looked malnourished.  She found a paved path and started following it for about an hour. She stopped and looked up in awe at the huge red gates in front of her, it had a symbol of a leaf at the top. She approached the inside of the gates noticing two guards with the same symbol as the gate had on a forehead protector. They were both asleep as she walked over to them she tugged at the pants of one of the guards who woke up and looked around. The little girl tugged on his pants again the guards eyes widened in shock at the sight of the malnourished little girl.

I looked up at the man "can you help me please, I don't know where I am and I don't have anyone to take care of me, is there someone who could help me" I asked. He looked down " of course I'll help but I have to take you to the Hokage just in case you're a danger to the village. I nodded my head " I understand I will follow you" I replied. "Alright let's go."

                                                                     Third Person's Pov.

The little girl was looking at everything with excited eyes as she followed the ninja to the Hokage's building. The ninja in question was observing her wondering what happened to her and wanting to take her to the hospital, though he knew he couldn't do that because of regulations. They both walked in through the doors of a big red building. The little girl looked in disdain at the stairs that looked like it went on forever. The ninja having noticed her look and her health asked her if she would like him to carry her. Said little girl looked at him searching for any bad intentions and noticed none, she nodded her head yes. The ninja kneeled down and offered her his back which she carefully climbed on. Once she was situated the ninja started climbing the stairs, the little girl asked for his name and he said "Kotetsu what's your name?" The little girl told Kotetsu " my name is Key and I don't have any last name or middle name it's just Key." Kotetsu nodded they had finally reached the top of the staircase and Kotetsu lowered himself down so Key could climb down. Once on the ground Key grabbed Kotetsu's hand nervous of meeting the Hokage. Kotetsu looked down at her with a small smile and knocked on the doors to the Hokage's office, after a minute a gruff come in was heard.
