-Aaron's POV

Aaron ran up the stairs as fast as he could, nearly tripping over his own feet. He had to admit that back when most of the group was under effect of the forever potions and had lost their memory, he hadn't payed much attention to exactly how they acted. He had been far more concerned in finding a solution before everything was irreversible. Aaron was going to ask Garroth or Zane about this if he could, but he can't let them know why, it'll just cause mass panic..

Out of breath, Aaron knocks on the door in front of him, his heavy breathing being the only noise. Garroth opened the door, "Aaron? You look like you ran a 5k foot race, are you alright?"

"I'm perfectly fine." Aaron replies between breaths, straightening from his slouched posture. "I just wanted to ask you something." Garroth raises a brow in question "What did you want to ask that got you running down the halls?"

"Something came up, nothing bad or to worry about though. You obviously care for your brother, how did he act when he first reappeared with the forever potion effects on him?"

Garroth thought for a moment, not expecting such a question. "Well, he remembered everyone but I wasn't his brother in his mind; Ein was. He was pretty different if you remember, it was Zane, but not Zane at the same time, y'know?" Aaron nodded his head after a moment, not seeming satisfied with that answer. "Where's Zane?"

"Is something wrong, Aaron? You hate talking about this kind of thing, but now you don't."

"Where is Zane, Garroth. It's important." Garroth sighs in defeat, "The last I knew he was somewhere downstairs."

-Ein's POV

Ein watched Aaron go as soon as he had appeared. Why was he so angry? He sighs, feeling upset now. He now knew people he knew were here but Aaron doesn't want him to talk to them.

Is it because of that silly thing in high school? The one where he kind of, maybe betrayed Aphmau's trust and friendship at the time to be Alpha while simultaneously trying to get her to be his girlfriend? Ha ha. People change after high school, Aaron should know that, and it's not like they haven't been around each other since then, so that fiasco can't be it.

Then why?

-Zane's POV

Zane was just heading back upstairs when he saw Aaron nearly skidding to a stop in front of him. He took a few steps back to save himself from the Ultima before they crashed into each other. "What was that about!? You could have killed someone you know!" Zane shouts.

"Tell me, what happened while you were being controlled by Ein, exactly?" Aaron asks determinedly. "Why do you need to know that..? You surely haven't forgotten that whole scene, or did part of your brain go into making your ears so stupidly huge?"

"This is serious, I need an answer from you." Aaron says, his eyes narrowing slightly to emphasize that he was serious. Zane narrowed his eyes back, "Why do you need to know that?" Zane repeats. Aaron growls in annoyance "Zane! I asked Garroth and he told me what I already know, which wasn't helpful."

Zane's eyes narrow further into suspicion, but he responds, "I had control of my inner thoughts, if you already didn't know. I was aware of what was going on but I couldn't control a muscle in my body to stop it."

"Anything more?" Aaron tries, trying to get more out of Zane "Or do I need to go to a witch to get better answers."

"Hey! I didn't walk up these stairs ready for a pop quiz, you know! That's all I really know, but what we don't know is what happens when the forever potion lasts long enough to live up to its name; to last forever."
