The Runaway

Chapter 4

Two days later...

Everything was already packed, and we went to the new house. It turned out there was a basement. But the basement was huge, and it seemed to go on forever. As it were some sort of tunnel. You couldn't see where it ended. If I looked to the left I couldn't see anything. If I looked to the right it was the same thing. I went back up stairs.

"Hero, Coco. " I said and they both cane running down.

"What's up? " Hero asked.

"The sky. And is everything ready? " I asked.

"Yeah everything is unpacked. We just put your boxes in your room. Although someone wanted to unpack for you, but don't worry I didn't let him. I didn't even let him open a box." Coco sad looking at Hero. I looked at Hero.

"Hero why? " I asked.

"I'm sorry, I just thought it would be a whole lot easier if we helped you. " Hero said.

"Thanks, but no thanks. You both know that I was locked up my entire life. I hardly got to do things myself. I want to do things myself. " I said and ran upstairs. I opened the door to my new room and quickly unpacked. I laid down on my bed looking at the ceiling. When I heard a knock on the door.

"Can we come in? " Coco asked.

"Sure. " I said and they came into my room.

"Wow you unpacked fast. " Hero said.

"Yeah. " I said.

"Oh right we came to give you this. " Coco said and handed me a present. I took the present, and opened it. Only to take out a weird thing.

"What is it? " I asked.

"It's a phone you can watch videos, call us, and all kinds of stuff on this. " Hero said. "And we also got this for you. " he continued. He handed me another present and handed me some wires.

"Those are earphones. You can plug them in here, and use them to hear music when you don't anybody to hear your music, if your bored, or you just don't want to listen to other people. " Coco explained.

"Thanks guys. " I said, gave them a soft smile then I hugged them. I let them go. "Hey does this thing have a flashlight? " I asked.

"Yes, why? " Hero asked.

"Just in case. " I said.

"Alright. We'll call you when dinner is ready. " coco said.

"Alright thanks. " I said and they both walked out of the room. I plugged in the earphones, and turned on my phone. It showed me a quick tutorial of how to use it, and it seemed really easy. I clicked on the icon that said YouTube and started to listen to music.

The music I really liked I downloaded it.

Next day...

I got ready for school got my phone, my earphones, with my book bag and walked out of the house listening to music.

Time skips...

I walked into the school. When I was listening to music it was if there was nobody else around. I was free. Music is my escape. I walked into the classroom and sat down at my desk. I saw that my apps finished installing. I was scrolling to see what was on YouTube. When Lily took out one of my earphones.

"You finally got a phone. " she said with a smile. I smiled back.

"Yeah. " I said, paused my music and then unplugged my earphones.

"Let me see this. " she said taking my phone out of my hands. I saw her fingers moving. I was confused on why she did that. She handed me my phone back and I took it.

"What did you do? " I asked.

"I put in my phone number. So now you can text me or call me. " she said with a smile.

"Oh okay. " I said. The bell rang, and everybody walked in taking their seats. Ryan sat down next to me. I looked at him with the corner of my eye. Then I noticed that Brittany was staring at me.

I took out my phone and texted Lily. I put my phone on vibrate just in case. Then Lily texted me back. I saw Ryan look at me. I looked around for Lily, but I saw Mason looking at me. He gave me a soft smile along with a small wave. I smiled back at him, along with a wave and kept texting Lily. The teacher still wasn't here and class had started fifteen minutes ago.

Everybody got up to go with their friends. Lily came to me and smiled.

"Hey cuz. " Brittany said. I looked out the window and rolled my eyes. When I did that I looked at Lily.

"What is it? " Lily asked.

"Oh nothing I just wanted to ask you something. " she replied.

"And what is it? " Lily asked.

"Why are you hanging out with her instead of me? You know your mom wants you hang out with me. But what would happen if I told her? I mean are you her only friend? If you are that's hilarious because then I was right. She's a loser. " Brittany said, put flicked me as if I were some sort of animal. And she was the trainer. I put my hand on my forehead.

"Don't do that to her. " Lily said. "Everybody in here knows that your just a wannabe. Cousin or not that still doesn't give you the right to make fun of her like that. " she continued. "Come on Felicity. " lily said. She grabbed my arm and we walked out of class.

"I can't believe Ryan likes your cousin. Especially when she's like that. No offence. " I said.

"It's alright I like you more than her, because your my best friend. " she said.

"And your my best friend. " I said. We both smiled and Mason came to us.

"Well looks like our teacher isn't showing up today. " he said.

"I know right I hope she never shows up. " Lily said. She took mg phone out of my pocket, and handed it to Mason. "Here put your number on her phone." Lily said. Mason grabbed my phone and did the same thing Lily did.

I Mason got my book bag along with Lily's. The bell rang.

"They probably want us to go home since our teacher hasn't shown up. " Lily said. Me and Mason nodded our heads. "Alright then bye you guys. " Lily said and walked away.go I started walking to my house. When I noticed Mason was still next to me.

"Mason what are you doing? " I asked.

"Oh this is the where I always go after school. It's the way to my favorite restaurant, it's where I can be able to clear my thoughts. " he said. "So why are you going this way? " he continued.

"Oh, this is the new way I go home. " I said.

"Really I should take you to my favorite restaurant one day. " Mason said stopped and looked at me.

"Yeah maybe one day. " I said stopped, and looked at him. "Well I better get going. " I said.

"Oh wait. " he said. I stopped and looked at him confused. "I almost forgot. I wanted to give you this. " he said handing me a little box. I take the box from him.

"What is it? " I asked.

"Well open it. " he said. I opened it and saw two things. One was round and had stuff on top of it. The other was a square. I looked at Mason confused.

"What is this? " I asked.

"It's a brownie and a cupcake. Don't you know what they are? " he said walked towards, me and looked at me with sad along with worried.

"Where I'm from we don't have these cupcakes or Brownies. No one even made them. " I said.

"Really?! " he asked. I just nodded my head. I grabbed the Brownie and bite into it. I started to chew it and I instantly feel in live with it.

"It's delicious! " I shouted.

"I know right. " he said with a smile. I hugged him and he hugged me back. I let him go.

"See ya soon Mason! " I shouted and ran all the way home. I looked around and saw that Hero, and Coco weren't home. I finished eating the cupcake, and brownie. I smiled at how good they were. I went to my room, got some clothes, and then went to take a shower.
