"One hour left."
"I cannot wait to get out of this hellhole."
"It's not so bad. At least you have me."
"Yeah, you're my little bright spot in this classroom. I just mean... my aunt's gonna be pissed when I get home."
"That's the upside of being a screw-up, the parents eventually stop lecturing you."
"Is that better? Not getting lectured?"
"I don't know. But at least it's quiet."
"Yeah, I get that. Sometimes I'll just sit in my room with really quiet music and a book for hours."
"Huh. Mostly I just get on my bike and drive around for no reason. You know, when shit gets too loud."
"I've never been on a motorcycle."
"Do you want to go for a ride?"
"What, right now?"
"We're in detention right now, Gigi."
"Oh, right."
"I just mean sometime. If you want to."
"Uh... Yeah. Sure. I'll try anything once."
"Great."
"I mean almost anything. Just not drugs. Or... robbery."
"That's wise. And for the record, I've never done drugs."
"Liar."
"I swear I'm not!"
"Oh, so you weren't suspended for having weed in your locker freshman year?"
"Yes, I was, but I swear to God I was holding it for a friend. He was in some trouble and he was scared the principal was gonna check his locker, so I kept it for him. He tried to own up to it but the stupid fucking principal didn't believe him, or me."
"Promise it's the truth?"
"Promise."
"I believe you."
"..."
"I feel kind of bad now."
"Why?"
"Well... I actually have done drugs—"
"OH MY GOD!"
"ONLY ONCE! Jeez, lower your voice!"
"You are a hypocrite!"
"I am not!!"
"You are so!"
"I smoked a little weed ONCE at a slumber party when I was fifteen, okay? That's it! I hated it and I felt so guilty afterward I cried the entire night. I confessed to my uncle the next day. I was crying so hard he couldn't even punish me."
