"Ahhhhh!" A high pitched scream ripped through the air as Lucy clung to a tree. One of her hand wrapped around the trunk of the tree, while her other hand held her keys.
"Calm down, Lucy!" Erza's voice was quiet against the sound of rushing wind, but the blonde mage could hear her. The scarlet haired girl held the boulder she was previously leaning against.
"What's happening?" Lucy screamed back, shocked and confused.
Erza rolled her eyes, irritated,"The island is falling, what else?"
Lucy grumbled at the woman's response and squeezed the tree tightly. Pressure started to build up, so Erza got down on her hands and knees, clutching the dead grass while crawling to the edge to see if they were about to hit the ground. "I don't see any land!" The requip mage shouted.
"What? Do you mean we'll be falling... forever?" Lucy's voice was oddly high pitched and much quieter due to the wind rushing past their ears.
Rain smiled,"Uhm, I still can't see you though. I used the sound of your footsteps to find you."
Gray sighed and nodded, even though the girl couldn't see him. "Can you see figures?"
"Yea, slightly." Rain replied before Gray moved his hand in front of her.
"Did you see that?"
"Yea."
"Then take my hand," Gray said rather bluntly. A dark blush painted Rain's cheeks, luckily no one could see her.
"What?" Gray took a step back and grabbed her hand.
"This." All of a sudden, Jellal started chuckling.
"What an odd conversation you two just had." He said, footsteps echoing throughout the dark room. Rain's cheeks were dusted pink, her fingers intertwined with Gray's. "I suppose I should join this chain as well." Jellal's footsteps started to fade.
"You're going the wrong way!" Rain shouted, trying to overcome the blush caused by her strange situation.
"Oh." Jellal's voice seemed giddy.
"Why are you so happy?" Gray's monotonous voice rang out.
"I... have no idea."
Natsu flailed his arms, trying to get the furry creatures off his back. Carla was hitting one of them with a stick while Happy screamed in panic. Pantherlily was fighting three of them at the same time. "Shoo, you little monsters!" A familiar voice panicked the small creatures as they scrambled to get away.
Natsu turned to see his old friend, Lucy. Except, this Lucy was from Edolas. "Lucy! Am I glad to see you!" He ran toward the girl, but she dodged him. The boy fell face first onto the dirt.
"Wait a second... how are you here? Isn't this an island?" Pantherlily questioned, walking up to the blond girl.
The girl laughed,"This isn't an island." She walked to the very edge and lied down. "It's a mountain with an odd peak. We place illusions on our territory so if anyone is in them, we can freak them out."
Varian's head throbbed with pain, his eyes started to water, and his feet ached. He could barely even watch as the villagers took all his supplies and ran. He closed his eyes and breathed in deeply. "F**k." The man muttered as he tried to stand.
He surveyed the area. He sat on a dead patch of grass, near some dead trees, under a gray sky. He sighed,"What a terrible place." He grabbed the rotting tree and leaned against it. He looked around,"Rain!" he called out,"Gray, Jellal, Erza?" he tried again,"Natsu, Lucy? Wendy?"
