After I had stormed off and left with Selene, we had driven to the hotel. She smiled at me.

"Momma?"

"Hmm?" I asked.

"You can go get a drink. I'll be okay by myself."

I smiled at her. "I'll be okay, baby. Let's just go to the room."

She nodded and walked up the stairs with me. As I opened the door to our hotel room, she went to her bed. I closed the door behind me and fell face first onto my own bed. Selene rolled over and did the same thing as me. I chuckled at her as she sent me a cheeky smile and I rolled onto my side. She spoke up.

"Mom?"

"Yeah?"

"How long are we going to be here?"

"As long as you want, baby girl."

"As long as I want?"

"Why are you asking?" I pondered aloud.

"Well......."

I gaped. "Selene, do you want to move here?"

She nodded a little. "I've always like Hawaii, and I just kind of want to stay here..."

I smiled. "Are you sure?"

"Yes." She told me. "I can go to school here, you can get a job, and we can get a nice house!"

I chuckled at her before sighing and picking up my phone.

"I'll go call someone and see what we can do."

"Really?!"

"Yes really."

"I love you mom!"

I laughed as she hugged me before walking into the hall. I closed the door and leaned next to it. I pressed call on my phone and the voice on the other end picked up and made me smile.

"Hello?"

"Jade? Um... I've got a question." I told her.

"What is it, Dea?"

"Selene wants to move to Hawaii."

"So you want to know if your old house is up for grabs. And if it is, you want me to help you get it back."

"In short, yes."

"I'll see what I can do."

I smiled. "I owe you one."

"Always. Love you girl, bye."

"Bye."

I hung up and sighed. I turned to the door and saw Steven standing next to it. I groaned and put my head back against the wall. He sighed.

"I know I fucked up, and I really want to try again." He looked at me. "Dea, please."

I glared at him. "After ten years, all you can say is that you know you fucked up?"

"I can't ever fix what I did to you."

I put my hand on the door and turned away from him. He stopped me by pulling it shut again. He was right next to me and I refused to look at him.

"Please." He whispered.

I glanced at him. "I'll talk to Selene. If she wants to talk to you then I'll send her out. Otherwise, you leave."

"Okay."

I pushed open the door to find Selene standing there with her arms crossed.

"I'll talk, you listen." She snapped. "When I first asked my mom who my dad was, she started crying. I know she tried to hide it but I'm smarter than I should be. A few days later she told me who you were. Your name, where you worked, etc. And when I asked her if we could come and meet you she told me that she would try. I was six and a half years old when she first started trying. I'm ten years now and this is the first time I have ever seen you in person. You hurt my mom ten years ago, and that makes me mad. I am very mad at you and I never forgive you for what you did to her and the pain you put her through. Until I decide to forgive you for forgetting about her and all that, then I will not call you 'dad' or anything of the sort."

We both looked at her, our mouths hanging open. She smiled at me before speaking.

"Mom, did you call Jade?"

"Huh? Oh, yeah. She's looking into it."

Selene smiled and nodded before walking away from us. I frowned as she turned around.

"Mom, you and him need to talk. I'll be on the balcony."

I sighed and nodded, watching her leave. Steven looked after her.

"She's just like you when we were kids."

I chuckled. "In some ways, yes. But she's headstrong and when she decides on something, it takes alot to get her to change her mind."

He chuckled as well. Then we both stopped. I smiled slightly.

"This is the most civil conversation we've had in the past ten years..."

"Yeah." He looked at me. "Dea, I am so sorry. I didn't know what to do... we were young and stupid. But what happened that night and what we got out of it is not a mistake. I swear to you that I will try to fix whatever I can."

I looked at him. "Steven, you have someone. I don't want to be the reason that she leaves you."

"Listen to me." He told me. "Me and Lynn just got together. I talked to her already and she understands. You know what? Let us take you out. Me, you, and Selene."

I chuckled. "As long as you add Lynn to that, we'll be good."

He smiled. "Are you sure?"

"Absolutely. Let me go talk to Selene."

"Can I?"

"Sure."

I watched as he walked away, heading to talk to my- no. Our daughter. I looked at them through the balcony door and smiled when Selene nodded. He said something and she giggled just slightly. He chuckled and ruffled her hair, something he did to me when we were kids. She smiled up at him as they walked back inside.

"Me and mom will get ready and meet you there in an hour."

"Fine by me. Bye, Selene."

"Bye, Steven."

He paused next to me. I rolled my eyes and hugged him. He smiled into my hair and hugged me back before walking out of the door. As soon as it closed, Selene went into overdrive. She ran to her suitcase and started pulling out dresses and makeup. I sighed before walking over and grabbing a cute, Navy blue one. She smiled and ran to the bathroom to slip it on while I slipped on my own light pink one with black lace covering it. I then brushed my hair and looked at the mirror. Selene smiled at me from it and walked over. I stopped her from putting on makeup and did her hair. We looked at each other then at the mirror and smiled. I kissed her head and we walked outside, Selene giving me directions to the restaurant.
