He threw the knife to the floor and screamed until his lungs burned.

He didn't know whether he should laugh or cry more. It was all just so ridiculous to him.
He looked down at his arms and the stinging marks on his skin.
You're so dumb Min Yoongi...

In a way Yoongi had always known things weren't going to last. They were just too different.
They always fought about the littlest things and it always ended up in Yoongi apologising for things he didn't do.
He was pure poison but Yoongi realised it too late.
He was nothing more than a lying bastard who used him to get over his personal issues.
A rebound.
That's what he called Yoongi in the end. There was no love there. No real feelings.

He left his phone on the floor and walked out of his bedroom. He skipped breakfast as usual and headed out the door with his backpack flung loosely over his shoulder.
He had to go to school.
Unfortunately.

He really didn't feel like going to school anymore. His grades were going downhill and the people he once considered friends were now best off staying as far away from him as possible.
He didn't want to see anyone or talk to anyone. He just wanted to waste away.
But still he tried to act as if nothing happened, no body really knew about his former relationship and he didn't want to explain it to anyone. It was a secret, like it had always been and he was going to keep it that way.
Nobody had to know about the stuff that went on in his life, not even his parents.

When he walked onto the school ground he was greeted by his friends who asked how he was doing, more out of habit than actual interest and as Yoongi shrugged it off, nobody really took offence of it.
People had learned to leave him alone. He hadn't been acting like himself lately, and people noticed. Not that he was normally such a sunspot but the last couple of months it had only gotten worse. He stopped talking to people out of his own effort, he didn't smile anymore at all, he was on his phone 24/7 and his eyes were always red and puffy.
But people were afraid to ask him what was wrong.
They had gotten afraid of him because whenever his friends asked something, he would just start yelling at them that nothing's wrong with him and that it was none of their business.
So people left him alone. Until now.

As Yoongi sat down in his normal seat at the back of the classroom, he saw a post-it on his desk. It was definitely directed to him since no one else ever sat in that spot.

Are you okay?
-J.

J? Who's J? Yoongi looked around the classroom but he didn't see anyone looking at him.
J? There were quite a lot of people who's name started with a J in his class...
Jeon Jungkook? Nahh he's too busy being popular to care...
Jung Hoseok? Well he used to be Yoongi's friend and he had given up on asking if he was okay a while ago...
Maybe it wasn't the last name... so...
Kim Seokjin? He goes by Jin in school so maybe? But he was always all over Namjoon so that rules them out...
...
Jimin?
Just as Yoongi looked in the direction Jimin usually sat, their eyes met.
Jimin looked at him longer than anyone had dared in the past couple of months and he looked sad in a way. His eyes went down to Yoongi's hand that was holding the post-it and back up to meet Yoongi's eyes. His eyes hopeful and sympathetic at the same time.
Yoongi wanted to cry.
He was reminded of everything but for the first time in a long time he felt like someone cared about how he was doing.
Fortunately for him, class hadn't started yet and as he felt tears build up in his eyes, he ran out of the classroom. People looked up to see who it was but when they noticed it was Yoongi, they went back to whatever it was that they were doing.
Except for Jimin. He ran out after Yoongi.

He found Yoongi sitting on the bench on the rooftop which is where he knew he had to look. Jimin had followed him there a couple of times without Yoongi knowing.
Jimin has been the only one who was trying to actually take care of Yoongi and whenever he went up to the roof it made Jimin worried.
He was afraid that if things got worse, Yoongi might want to jump... just the thought alone drove Jimin crazy and he had promised himself to take care of Yoongi from now on.

Yoongi sat on the bench, hiding his face behind his hands and Jimin could hear him softly crying and sniffling.
Without saying anything he sat down beside the crying boy and put one of his earphones in his own ear and one in Yoongi's.
He played Zion.T's 'Eat' which seemed like it wouldn't fit the situation in any way but at the same time it did. It was the song Jimin always played when he needed to relax. And he hoped it would calm Yoongi down too.

'Hi...
It's not easy huh?
You're busy huh?
You wonder why you have to go this far.
There's so many damn things they want.
You want a break.
It's all so noisy.
It's all so annoying, right?
You wanna go home, don't you?
(Even though you are home)
I bet you want to go home.'

The song plays quietly as they sit there; not saying anything. Jimin just smiles at the ground as he enjoys the song.
He knows that whatever he does, he shouldn't try to directly comfort Yoongi. He knows because it doesn't work. It doesn't work for him either. Music is the only thing that will calm him down.
Yoongi looks up at him after a while. His crying has calmed down is the first Jimin notices. He still doesn't look at Yoongi. In fact he closes his eyes and faces up to the sky as he can feel light raindrops fall on his skin.

At first Yoongi was confused. He wanted to yell at the blonde boy to leave him alone, to mind his own goddamn business, but something stops him. The fact that this boy is sitting right next to him. Even though he's not saying anything, nor is he looking at him. The fact that he's just... there. It's weird and Yoongi doesn't know exactly how to feel but it's not a feeling he hates; which is new. This short, blonde boy with a friendly face is just there for the sole purpose of being there.
And Yoongi needed it.
More than he cared to admit.

"You don't have to say anything. You don't have to ask questions either. You're not alone Min Yoongi."
