The mysterious girl

Kai 8.

Emily knew I was watching, but didn't know where. Since merging with Luke, I've felt different. The killing of people was harder. I couldn't even kill certain people anymore. Before when I knew Emily, I had a slight affection for her. Now, it turned into into something else. It makes me want to protect her. I knew I didn't love her, but I wanted to protect her. I knew something was going to happen tonight from what was going on. The sun was almost gone. I was glad that no one knew I was here. If anything happened to Emily, I would get her out of there. Emily said something.

"They're here!" she yelled.

The others moved into the positions that either hid them or had them around her. Most of her pack hid. Those of her pack that could get hurt, went into the buildings to stay safe. The Salvatore brothers, Enzo, and Liam stayed with her. The rest seemed to have disappeared. Something didn't seem right to Kai.  He listened carefully and found out. Before, animals were making sounds, but now nothing. It felt strange, even to Kai. It made him nervous. The a group of vampires appeared a few hundred feet away. They were walking, but when they saw Emily. They appeared again in front of them about 20 feet away. A vampire broke away from the others and started walking towards Emily. She then broke from her side and walked to the vampire. They talked and the vampire seemed to get mad. Emily tried to calm it down, but the vampire pushed her out of the way. The other vampires surged forward towards the Salvatore's, Enzo, and Liam. Emily yelled

"NOW!"

Her pack appeared and were spraying those vampires with vervain. Liam tried to get grab Emily. That's when the battle begun. From where I watched, Emily was doing okay on her own. She ducked and weaved her way between the vampires. Then one came behind her. With one hand, it tilted her neck and grabbed her shoulder. She tried fighting out of it, but it was too late. The vampire bit into her. Even from here, I could hear the scream. It was blood curdling. Everyone stopped and looked. She stood, there standing. Not moving but just screaming.

"LYDIA!" Someone yelled.

She stopped and with a trembling finger pointed at Emily, who who was limp in the vampires arms. No one moved, not even a sound, but breathing could be heard. Then, Emily's pack rushed to Emily. The vampire that was holding her, let her go when they came close. Without a word, those vampires left except one. He lingered a while longer, but then left too. Everyone rushed to Emily, who was on the ground, not moving.

"Is she she dead?" Someone asked.

Damon stood and with his head hung, nodded. No one seemed worried. Then I realized when it happened. Emily gasped like there was no tomorrow. She sat up and grabbed her neck, which was already healing. Emily then fainted from the lack of blood.

"Looks like she'll be okay." I said moving from where I was hiding. Everyone moved to protect Emily, but with a flick of my hand, they were thrown back. I bent down and whispered,

"We have a lot to talk about Emily."

I picked her up and skiing her over my shoulder. I knew what we could go with out any one finding us. I thought to myself, I walked away and disappeared into the night with Emily.

Hey guys it's me yeah I know I said I was going to update more but I got busy with school need to keep my grades up otherwise I won't be able to get into a good college next year. And then tomorrow is my birthday I'm turning 18! Honestly its kinda hard to believe it. It feels like yesterday it was freshmen year and I just started to write the book crazy how time fly's.
