Jason brushed past the guy and stepped into the house.
"This is Richard," He slung an arm around his shoulders, "But you can him Dick, considering he is one." He threw a crooked grin and disappeared into the house.
"Real mature, Jason. I'm glad you're setting such a good example for the next generation!" Dick called back into the house behind him. He turned back towards me.
"Who are you again?"
I zipped up my jacket a bit more as a breeze blew past. "Eliza."
He looked me up and down. "I guess I should invite you in since you're Jason's plus one," Dick said, opening the door a bit more. I stepped into the house. I won't go into the details of how massively impressive it was. Dick closed the door behind me. The sound echoed off the walls. "The dining room is this way." He gestured for me to follow him. The dining room had high vaulted ceilings and the longest dining table I had ever seen. It was set with dishes lining the centre and seven set places. Jason was seated in a chair towards the middle of one of the long sides. I sat next to him. Dick had pulled out a chair for him to sit across from me. The was a crash from upstairs. He slammed his chair back towards the table and marched out of the room, fuming.
"Whats going on?" I asked Jason, taking off my jacket and hanging it on the chair behind me.
"It's just guys fighting. Don't worry about it." He leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes.
There was another crash coming from the floor above us
Third Person POV
Damian launched at flower pot at Tim Drake's head. Tim ducked. The pot shattered behind his head as dirt flew.
"I hate you!" Damian screamed. He rocketed himself after Tim. The pair ran through the halls Wayne Manor, Damian following Tim. When they reached the main staircase Tim slid down the bannister. Damian leapt over the railing and landed and rolled on the ground level. He grabbed Tim by the shirt and lifted him to eye level, almost a foot above the ground. He sneered. It was Damian's 6'1" versus Tim's 5'6".
"Hey!" Dick came barging around the corner. He pushed Damian and Damian lost his grip on Tim. He stumbled back. Tim fell against the wall. "Take a walk, Damian!" Dick yelled, pointing away.
"But.." Damian pressed.
"Take a walk." Dick's voice lowered. Damian turned, and with his head bowed, dragged his feet up the stairs. Dick turned to Tim.
"Thanks," Tim stood straight and rubbed the back of his neck, "You know.."
"What is wrong with you?" Dick interjected.
"Sorry?"
"Why do you have to engage with Damian every time? For once can you guys not fight every time you see each other? Honestly, this was supposed to be an opportunity for all of us to sit down and actually see each other all in one place." Dick ran his fingers through his hair, "Let's just go sit down, Damian will come back soon enough."
Eliza's POV
Dick returned with a guy who must've been shorter than me. He had a choppy haircut and deep bags under his eyes. Dick sat at the head of the table and the new guy sat across from Jason, who still had his eyes closed. I kicked him under the table. His eyes shot open and he glared at me. I shrugged.
"I'm Tim by the way. Tim Drake." The newer guy stated.
"I'm Eliza," I replied, nodding my head and smiling softly.
"The rest of the party should be here soon so you guys can eat if you want." Dick gesture to the food on the table. Nobody moved except for Jason who immediately started filling his plate.
"Hey, Dick," Jason split the silence as he continued to pile food, "Are the girls coming or is it just us?"
"It's just us," He said, looking at the archway that led into the dining room, expecting someone to appear. "Bruce was supposed to be here but he said he couldn't come because of work."
"Real work?"
"Real work," Dick confirmed. Everyone was quiet. We sat in silence like that for a few more minutes. Finally, someone came through the archway.
There was a pain in my chest so intense that a knife could have stabbed my heart. Damian Wayne walked into the room. His hair was much longer than the last time I had seen him. His eyes were glued to the ground as he took the seat across from me. I stared at him, eyes wide. I was surprised I hadn't put it together earlier. The big house, Bruce, Tim Drake. I was at Wayne Manor.
"Damian." Dick's voice seemed to be a warning in its own. Damian looked up. He looked straight at me. His eyes, a fixed point between blue and green. I stared at him, he stared at me, not one of us moving a muscle. Tim cleared his throat.
"Do you guys know each other or something?" He asked.
Damian stood up, his chair flying back. His face was set with a stone cold expression. He stormed around the head of the table and grabbed my wrist. I was pulled up and out of my chair. He had almost pulled me towards the archway entrance. I yanked my arm back and his grip fell. I glared up at him. Damian marched out of the dining area, I followed him.
