DJ smiled when she saw Stephanie looking up at her, but then she frowned remembering what the doctor said to them.

"Deej? What happened?"

She sighed. "You were in a car accident, Steph."

Stephanie tried to sit up, but gasped in pain and laid back down. "Gia?"

"She'll be okay. She's pretty banged up and so are you, but you'll both be okay." DJ sniffed.

"Deej, I'm sorry. I should have listened to you."

DJ shook her head. "No, I'm sorry, Steph. I should have listened to you. You tried to tell me before you left and I didn't listen. I thought you were just being a brat, but I was wrong." Stephanie looked confused. "You said you were tired of not being able to live up to me, but you're perfect just the way you are, Steph." DJ started crying, but she didn't understand why.

"Deej, if I'm gonna be okay then why are you crying? You're acting like I'm dying or something."

DJ carefully leaned down and took her sister into her arms. "No, you won't die. You'll be okay." She pulled back and looked her younger sister dead in the eyes. "You are not allowed to die and leave us, do you understand?"

Stephanie gave her a weird look then she nodded. "Deej, I'm okay."

DJ sniffed again. "Are you?" She asked unsure.

Stephanie shrugged. "You said I was going to be. I'm sorry I went with those guys. I think the pain in my body is enough of a punishment, I've learned my lesson, believe me."

DJ nodded. "I know you will be okay when you heal, but I'm asking if you are okay, right now?"

"I'm in pain, but I'm ok-"

"Stephanie, I'm trying to ask about your arm?"

Stephanie shook her head in confusion. "What about it? It doesn't hurt as much as my back or side."

DJ sighed and took her younger sister's hand. "The doctor said that some of the cuts on your body, specifically your arm, are already healing, which means that-"

"I'm a fast healer." Stephanie chuckled.

DJ frowned and her smile fell seeing her older sister looking so disappointed.

"They said it means the cuts are from before the accident and they are concerned that you may be hurting yourself. Dad doesn't believe it, but I do, I just don't know why, help me understand."

Stephanie blinked, then she slowly turned away from her sister and pulled the blanket over her head. "I'm really tired Deej. Just go away."

DJ wanted to protest, but then she just sighed and left the room quietly.

When she walked back over to her family she saw that her father was signing Stephanie out.

"She is coming home with us and I never want to hear you accusing my daughter of that again!" He yelled in frustration.

DJ wanted to open her mouth, to tell her father that it was true, but all that came out of her mouth was a sigh.

Becky came up and put a comforting arm around her. "It's okay, Deej. She is coming home with us."

DJ shook her head. "But maybe she shouldn't."

Becky gave her a weird look, but before she could say anything Danny and Jesse walked back over.

"Can you believe them?!" Danny huffed.

"They are just doing their job, Danny. We'll just take Stephanie home and everything will be okay."

DJ stepped away from her aunt and walked over into the hospital room.
