Nishinoya Yuu x Reader

Birthday Surprise

(A/N: You guys don't realize how much I wanted to finish this on Nishinoya's birthday, but oh well, Happy Belated birthday to Karasuno's Libero! Also Nishinoya is one of my favorite characters so of course his would be the first few oneshots I'd write. Hope you enjoy it!)

"Hey (f/n)!" Nishinoya called out to you.

"Nishinoya!" you replied a bit startled as you faced him, before stuffing a couple of things inside your bag.

"Hey, want to hangout today?" he asked with a cheeky grin.

"I'm sorry Nishinoya, I can't. I have to pick up some items today, and they're going to take forever for me to do," you told him.

"Well why don't I come with you to make things easier?" he offered.

"NO! You can't," you said a bit loudly on the first part.

"Huh? Why not?" he asked.

"Well...it's something I don't want to bother you with. You can use your time a lot better than getting stuff done with me," you reasoned out, despite wanting to hang out with him.

"I really don't mind (f/n). I like hanging out with you," he insisted as you tried to find a way to tell him no.

"That's sweet Nishinoya, but you still can't come. It's hard to explain. But how about this, I'll text you later if I have free time okay?" you offered.

"Okay, you better," Nishinoya agreed and then parted ways.

Now you would love to hang out with Nishinoya, but for the next few days it was a different story. You were planning a surprise birthday party for the Guardian Deity libero. Those errands you needed to get? Those were either his birthday decorations or supplies for his surprise birthday party. The whole boy's Karasuno volleyball team were helping you as well, which you desperately needed. For one, they were big help on figuring out what you needed to get for Nishinoya, and two, if Nishinoya was persistent on trying to hang out with you, they would step right in and help you escape. It was hard for you to say no to Nishinoya, unless you had a lot of will power, which you were grateful for the volleyball team's help.

Your days consisted of getting more supplies and decorations for Nishinoya either by yourself or with Tanaka or Sugawara. Today, you were with Sugawara as you both were looking for the last of the birthday decorations, and gifts two days before the libero's birthday.

"Do you think this will tie in with the decorations?" you asked Sugawara while pointing to some volleyball themed decorations.

"Oh I think it'll be perfect," he told you with a thumbs up after grabbing his present for Nishinoya.

"Okay great, let's get this and-"

Before you could finish, you noticed a black leather jacket, threads, and felt, which gave you an idea for his birthday gift.

"This will be perfect!" you told Sugawara as you explained what you were going to get for Nishinoya with the jacket and embroidery supplies.

"Oh I think he'll love that (f/n). Let's buy them so we can start working on the final touches," Sugawara commented as you nodded.

After buying everything you needed, you both went to your house where you kept all the supplies stored and hidden.

"Thanks Sugawara, I appreciate your help, and the rest of the guy's help too," you thanked him.
