Rachel's POV:

"I WANNA GO HOME!" Gracie called out, as she held her eyes shut.

The entire class seemed to freeze in time. They all stared at her in shock, even rat. Mrs. Hall swatted everyone to go back to their play, as she made her way to where Gracie sat.

"Gracie, sweetheart, what's wrong?" Mrs. Hall said in a kind voice.

"I-I don't feel good.." she obviously lied. "Can I go home please...?"

Mrs. Hall took Gracie's hand and they made their way over to her desk which apon it has the phone. She punches in a number and has a conversation with the person on the other end, "Hi, Gracie tells me she isn't feeling well....oh okay.....yes I- .....no no no, she won't...alright, I'll see you when you arrive, alright, bye now!" She turns to Gracie and speaks with her, which I can't clearly understand.

A few minutes after they are done speaking, Gracie wipes her tears as she walks over to me. "Gracie, I-" I get cut off with a sudden but soft hug. I instinctively hug her back, placing my chin on her shoulder.

"Don't talk. Please..." she whimpered. I can tell she doesn't care about what happened between us before, all Gracie wants is comfort. I get it.. I really do.

"Gracie, you ready?" Her mother stands at the door waiting for her. She pulls away from our hug and nods to her mom, running over to her. "Alright, let's go."

Gracie looks at Preston briefly and puffs her cheeks out as she turns away. She doesn't know how to feel.

I get that.

The school day officially ends after a long time, and we go home.

I begged my mom to let me go over to Gracie's but she told me I had to stay and do chores like cleaning my room.

Gross.

Non the less, I did as I was told.

Outside to in I always say!

Now that my room is all clean and toys put away, it's Really quiet and not busy at all. I don't like it. It's no fun.

I waddle to the kitchen, blanket in hand. "Mother," I sit down at the bar and watch my mom do her cooking, "can I go now?" I almost whine.

She looks at me and simply tells me "No."

"But why not??" I look at her with desperate eyes. She returns my look with a small glare then goes back to her cooking. "It has gotten too late, pumpkin," she rests her hands on the counter, "I can't bring you all the way over there."

I drop my head with disappointment. I really wanted to see Gracie and check if she was okay. She has gone through a lot and I need to be there for her. Although, I was a little mean to her before. She may not even want to see me..

No! I can't think like that! Positivity is key! I can always see her tomorrow.

"Okay Mom. When is dinner going to be ready?" I ask as I pick my head up.

"Soon," she said, "very soon."
