Scene 3
Camera cuts to Ira falling and then landing with a loud noise on an ugly black carpet.
Ira
"Ow, I really need to work on that, stupid magicless…" fades to MOS.
After a couple minutes she stops complaining and looks up puzzled.
"This… isn’t mom and dads summer home… Oh great! What have I done! I just came out of some random persons mirror in the middle of the day! Oh Damned, Oh Damned, I don’t know how to get home from a random persons mirror. I don’t even know how I got here! At least the summer home mirror is a permanent portal I don’t have any magic to make a portal! Oh my devil I’m trapped here... wherever here is…"
She looks around quick.
"Hell, I hope no one is home…"
She scrambles out of the room and out of the house. You can here someone singing in the shower of the bathroom but nobody else is in the house. She walks out of the house and looks around. There are cars and trolleys rolling over hills camera zooms out more and more until it is obvious she is in San Francisco. Camera then cuts back to Ira.
Ira
"OMD I guess I’m stuck here until someone tries to find me… if someone tries to find me… This is just perfect! I guess it’s only right though, I am practically… human."
Human is said with disgust
She takes one step forward and camera cuts to her suddenly sprawled on the ground.
Ouch…
She looks up and sees the bicyclist that she had just walked into.
" OMD look where you are going human!"
She is panicked and is sitting up but still on the ground.
Eric
"Oh wow! I’m sorry I didn’t see you. Are you hurt? Need a hand?"
Boy brings out hand and Ira ignores it and gets up. Both are about same age.
Ira
"Just umm watch where you are going next time. I’m fine."
Ira is scowling. Both stand, awkward silence.
"Well then… might as well run with it"
Said under her breath with an unhappy look she then looks up and puts on a fake smile.
"I’m Ira. I’m new in the city. You don’t happen to know a good hotel would you? Money isn’t a problem."
Eric gives Ira a weird look
Eric
"I’m Eric… and sure I know a good hotel but… if your coming into town shouldn’t you have planned ahead… and gotten a hotel room beforehand. Not that I’m judging or anything!"
Ira
"Yeah this was kind of a last minute trip… actually this is my first time in San Francisco so do you mind showing me to the hotel?"
Eric
"Oh! Um sure and if you want I can show you around the city. But first I can show you to the hotel I’m staying at. Do you need to like get your parents or something?"
Ira
"No my parents are still at our house in...New York. They sent me out here alone to explore different cultures."
Eric
"Different cultures like San Francisco? How different can they be? Well whatever works."
Eric looks doubtful
Ira
"Yeah my parents aren’t so good with the whole family thing So I came out here for a personal vacation in a way."
Eric
"But you did tell them before you left right? Running away is not the answer I promise."
Eric looks very worried now
Ira
"Don’t worry I have their permission and blessing. With any luck they will be meeting me out here and we will head home together. Now let’s go I’m tired of standing in the middle of the sidewalk."
Both kids AD LIB. Ira is either fake smiling or looking unhappy.
Camera faces the kid’s backs and zooms out and to the top right as kids walk together down the street then fades to black.
