Where am I?
Before I opened my eyes, I knew I was in immense pain. I was cold, and felt wet. I forced my eyes open as I tried to bring my surroundings into focus. There was a dim light coming from across the room, as I laid on what I assumed was the floor. I moved my left arm slightly and an awful pain shot through it. I winced, inhaled deep, and then tried again. I had to sit up. I needed to see where I was and get a clue to what was going on. I pressed my right palm against the cold floor and pushed myself upright. Now that I was sitting up, I realized my head was also hurting. The room began to spin and I feared I'd black out. So, I closed my eyes, and slowed my breathing, hoping the sensation would go away. It always worked before. This wasn't the time for it not to work. Sure enough, the room stopped moving, as I reopened my eyes.
What was the last thing I remember doing? How long have I been here? Where is here? I needed answers and I wasn't going to get them, sitting on the floor acting like a kidnapping victim. Wait...was I...Kidnapped? There was the faint sound of footsteps coming from outside of wall...voices...two of them... male...
"We have to take her out," one of the voices said, sternly.
"Are you crazy? Do you know what will happen, if Mondo finds out it was us?" a younger sounding male responded.
"Then I guess we better get rid of the body, where he'll never find her."
"You're talking madness."
"She killed Ranjan!"
"Ranjan, was in the private quarters of one Yonne Sheerz, Marcus. It is against Mondo's law."
"Mondo's law?! Sheerz are a SHEA, that-that bitch got Mondo to allow to give a weapon to. But, under those clothes they are still just for my pleasure! How can it be against the law to be in their chambers? Do you want to take orders from a SHEA? I sure as hell don't? It is unnatural! Because they fight with us, they are supposed to be our equal now?"
'Wait, are they talking about me? Are they coming to kill me? But why? It doesn't make any sense. I have to get up off this floor and find a way to escape, before it's too late,' i thought to myself. I forced my body to stand, despite the pain, as I continued to survey the room.
'No, stop! Please I'm sorry. I didn't mean to. I didn't know,' the memory flashed before my eyes without warning, slamming my head like a lightning strike. Who was the person in the memory and why was he apologizing? Was this the incident the men outside were talking about? The more I thought about it, the more questions I had. Ever since I arrived in town, I had been having these flashes. They seemed like memories, something about them were familiar. But, I knew for sure that they weren't my memories.
I was surprised that these men hadn't tied me up anyway? Especially since they were talking about killing me. I was unconscious. Maybe they thought I'd be out longer than I was? But, for precautions sake... I would have bound me up. Oh well, their slack, was my gain. Although, as the room came more into focus, I wasn't finding a door anywhere. There was several windows up high. But there was nothing I could see to use to access it.
The sound of footsteps approaching again, brought an unusual calm over me. I should have been anxious, scared even, but, I seemed at ease. I listened to where to footsteps were coming from and followed them from inside the room. Suddenly they stopped. I stopped as well, and waited. The wall pushed open and a door appeared. Gun drawn, a man walked through the door. He never looked to his right, focused on where they left me, I guess. But, I wasn't there.
