Sometimes I don't stop to think
Most times I stop to think too much
And this brain of mine has a mind of its own
Controlling my unconscious thoughts
Shining lights on insecurities and fears
Concealing my hope and peace in shadows
Terror when you realize your worst enemy
Is currently and indefinitely in your head
The breath-stealing, heart-breaking madness
Of having to fight it your entire life
Where sometimes you just want to quit fighting
You're just a deer in the world's headlights
Be a dear and fear the world's headlines
Because your fear will change things
The anxiety in your veins can rearrange it
The dread in your stomach shall dissolve issues
The lump in your throat will block disasters
The tremors in your hands can steady your shakiness
That imaginary voice in your head is fake, ignore it
That real voice in your head is true, heed to it
Sometimes I don't stop to think
Most times I stop to think too much
