I sat on my bed, my fingers absently stroking the soft hair of the plushy unicorn that Jimin had brought me. I know Jungkook hated it, and I had even caught him trying to throw it away once, but I had become quite attached to it.
I kept telling myself and everyone else that it was because it was a unicorn, but I wasn't too sure.
I couldn't deny that I had developed feelings for Jimin before I found out who he was, but after had discovered the truth and run from his house in the rain, those feelings were complicated.
I hated Park Jimin growing up; I spent almost every evening after school crying, and trying to stop Jungkook from going to his house and beating the hell out of him. I also couldn't say that he had changed much since he was younger. When I was with him as his fake fiancee, he was still short tempered and unfriendly, but he did take care of me, in his own way.
When he told me that he always loved me, I felt even more confused. My heart almost burst from both pain and happiness.
But after everything this man had done to me, there was no way I could go back to him and give him another chance; even if it was to start from the beginning.
There was a timid knock on the door, jerking me out of my thoughts, and I lifted my head, "Come in,"
The door swung open slowly, revealing a familiar face.
"Ms Jeon,"
"Oh, Daisy,"
"May I come in?"
I hesitated, wondering if Jimin was with her, but she smiled, "It's just me. Mr Park is still at the office. To be honest, he doesn't know I came. In fact, he told me not to come, but I had to,"
She stepped inside, closing the door behind her and held out a boquet of tulips, "He told me before that you like them, so I brought you a bunch as a get well gift,"
Without even waiting for an answer, Daisy moved to an empty vase next to the bed and put the flowers inside, fussing about them for a bit until she was satisfied with how they looked.
"How are you feeling?" She asked, sitting on the chair usually reserved for my brother or Yoongi, "Apart from homesick and miserable,"
"I'm not miserable," I said, a little too quickly.
She raised her eyebrows and smiled, "Of course. How are you?"
"I'm okay, thank you," I said, resisting the urge to ask how Jimin was. I told myself that I didn't want to know.
"That's good. Mr Park is worried about you, you know. He calls Mr Min every day to ask how you are doing, and he has regular reports from the hospital on your condition,"
I kept my mouth shut. I really wanted to tell her that if he was so worried, he should call me himself, but I also was glad he was leavng me alone.
Daisy smiled sadly as she looked at me, "Ms Jeon, he's miserable without you. He- don't ever tell him I told you this, but he cried yesterday. He cried because he loves you so much and you've left him. He was sat all day just staring at your ring,"
"He cried?" I asked, surprised.
"He loves you, Ms Jeon," She said gently, "Of course he's upset that you're gone,"
I lowered my eyes, looking at the unicorn sitting on my lap. I wasn't quite sure how to react. I felt somewhat satisfied that he was miserable; he deserved to be after everything he had done.
But it also hurt my heart.
"Daisy," I said quietly, not looking up at her, "Why are you so loyal to him? Why are you here?"
I looked up when she said nothing, so see her with a gentle smile on her face, "Mr Park has done so much for me and my husband, Ms Jeon. Without him, we might not have even been here today,"
"What do you mean?" I frowned.
"My husband almost worked himself into his grave just to keep the bills paid," She said, "He ended up in the hospital, and all our savings had to go on the treatment. When I applied for the job as Mr Parks PA, I actually passed out from hunger. Mr Park..." She smiled, "Mr Park gave me the job, even though I wasn't the best qualified. He pays me a lot more than he should, and he helped us pay off the hospital bills, only asking for one thing in return,"
"What did he ask for?" I asked, surprised.
She smiled, "That my husband becomed the head chef in his hotel restaurant. He really is an excellent chef, but because he didn't have the proper qualifications, no one would pay him very much," Her eyes glazed over when she spoke of her husband, and I could tell immediately that she was very much in love.
But she was also fiercly loyal to who she thought was a kind, caring man.
"Daisy..." I started, "Jimin is-"
"I'm aware of what he did as a child," Daisy cut me off, "But he is not the same person now. You should know that. Anyway, I have to get back to work,"
I wasn't sure how to respond, so I kept silent as she stood up.
"Oh, before I go," Daisy reached into her bag, fishing around before pulling out a little pack of sweets, "I uh.. Took this from Mr Parks desk. They've been in there since you moved in with him. He made me go and buy them, and was very specific about the brand,"
She placed the bag in my hand and waved, "Can I come and visit again, Ms Jeon? When I'm off duty?"
I looked up at her, surprised, "He made you buy these?"
She smiled, "I'll come again, then," With a wave, she left the room, closing the door gently behind her.
I looked back down at the bag of strawberry sweets in my limp hand, a tear forming in my eye.
"He knows exactly what he did," I muttered, "He remembers,"
