"Selena! Come quickly I need your help!" I heard Allison yell throughout the house, forcing me to wake up. I silently cursed Allison for waking me up because I had a late shift at the hospital and I needed some sleep.
I quickly snapped back to reality and raced down the stairs to see what was up with Allison.
I found her in the kitchen. The fire alarm started to go off as black smoke curled in the air.
"God damn it Allison you were never one to cook." I said as I laughed and helped her out. She looked at me. She was completely lost and had no idea what to do.
Soon after that I actually taught Allison how to make good pancakes without burning them.
"I just wanted to make something special for you once you woke up. I do have to admit though, my cooking skills are a bit rusty..." Allison commented. I burst out into laughter. "No shit!" I exclaimed as I watched her flip a pancake.
I felt a cool hand on my shoulder and I jumped. It couldn't be Theo because werewolfs are always hot. Looks wise and their temperature.
I turned around and saw that that person was my dad?
"Hey dad. I haven't seen you in a while." I said. "Where's dad?" Allison asked, her face palling. The colour also drained from my face as I turned back to dad.
Tears welled up in my eyes as he gave me a sincere look.
"Oh dad..." I said, sobs starting to form in my throat. "Oh my god dad! Dad no! How did you die?! You can't just leave me like this." I exasperated. I was startig to cry and I threw a look at Allison. Tears of her own were starting to run down her face.
She knew about my powers therefore she knew that our father is dead.
"It's okay Sel. It's okay." He told me, trying to soften the fact that he's dead.
"How dad?" I chocked out, I was on the verge of breaking down. "I was bitten." He said and I started to cry even harder. "Dad no, no, no, no. Please don't leave us!" I pleaded. I never wanted him to leave.
"I'm sorry Sel but you know the code." He said. The god damn code that killed both of my parents.
"Say hi to Mommy for us?" I asked him, trying to be brave. "No need to Selena, I'm right here." The voice that i yearned to hear for years spoke. "Mom?" I ask, my voice cracking. "Hi darling." She said softly. I smiled at her.
Oh how much I wanted to hug them both but I couldn't. I would fall right through them.
"Allison come here." I said, my eyes stuck on my mother and father. She silently walked over and I grabbed her hand. Suddenly we were home.
We were in the house we all lived in before our family got torn apart.
"Allison." I heard both of our parents say. She smiled at them and hugged dad.
I assumed that Allison saw plenty of our mother up there.
"Selena come here." Mom said to me. Tears were still spilling down my face. I ran into her arms and hugged her ever so tightly. "Oh mom I missed you so much." I gargled out.
"I missed you too darling." Mom said, hugging me back with the same amount of strength that I was hugging her with.
I sighed contently and closed my eyes before I opened them again and I saw dad.
"Daddy..." I whispered before I ran into his arms.
"I am so sorry Selena. I abandoned you when you needed me the most but look at you now, you are so strong and beautiful. Almost as identical as your sister in the looks department." Dad said and we both held each other tightly. I laughed slightly at his terrible dad joke.
I was much closer with my father than my mother because he was my hunting mentor and I felt a stronger connection with him.
I let go of him and I looked him square in the eyes. "It's not your fault dad." I told him gently. I turned away and observed what room we were in.
The kitchen.
It was our favourite place as a family because we all had great memories from the room.
Mother and I would always cook dinner together and Allison and dad would prepare the food before it got cooked. Mom and I partially didn't like having them in the kitchen because all they did was take 'samples' of the food. Mom and I could never trust them so usually once their job was done, we'd usher them out of the kitchen to set up the dining table.
I smiled at those memories.
Oh how I wish that those memories could once more be.
"Well darlings we must be off. We will watch you and Selena, your powers are growing stronger so summon us when you need us most darling. And Allison. What we did was wrong my sweet sweet girl. We stripped Selena of her abilities but thank her that she is able to forgive so easily. So live a good life, my children. We will see you soon. We will hug you when you join us but love your life first." Mom said, giving us both a sad smile.
I gave her one of my own. It matched my eyes perfectly. All the pain that I felt made my smile strain, you were clearly able to see in my eyes.
"Goodbye girls." Our parents both said before kissing our foreheads and parting.
I snapped open my eyes to see I was still in the exact same position. I looked at Allison and much to my relief, she was still there.
The rising anxiety calmed.
Allison's eyes snapped open and her eyes quickly darted to my own. We both communicated silently.
I find Allison rushing into my arms and we both start to sob.
I could tell already that this night was going to be ice cream and photo book night.
