It hurts to see the one you love with someone else
Of course, it affected you badly.... seeing that the person you had a childhood crush on had madly fallen in love with your team mate. Although, Natsu hadn't realize that he had feelings for the blonde mage until both had decided to confess in the guild hall. Mirajane, Erza, Happy and Gray knew that you didn't take it easy, but seeing that it had made Natsu the happiest man on Fiore, you rolled with it.
The worst part was that he asked her out on Christmas Eve....a day before your actual birthday.
This was the first ever Christmas that you weren't going to spend with Natsu. Maybe with Happy, like you do occasionally the previous years of Christmas, just without the fire dragon slayer. Of course, you knew he decided to spend Christmas with his new girlfriend rather than hang out with his best friends, which one of them has a birthday in a couple of hours.
You stood there; decorating the last of the Christmas tree that Erza, Gray and Mirajane had helped you gotten from a forest filled with them. The scent of pine and nature filled your nose, as Happy added the final piece that made the beautiful tree complete, a golden star.
As you smile at the gorgeous tree that stood there, Happy glanced at the window, making a loud gasp before flying towards it. You followed him, confused on what the exceed had saw, and suddenly grinned as a snow flake had fallen down from the sky.
It was snowing

Happy had decided to give your birthday present a little early as you both headed to guild together. The gift was a charm bracelet that embedded your name on it, in bold-silver words. It was beautiful.
When you both reached the guild, and pushed the doors open, the whole place was dark and it looked like it got deserted. Just before you were about to panic, the lights suddenly turned on, and streamers rained down from your head.
"Merry Birthday, (Y/n)!" The guild cheered, popping confetti cannons to your smiling-almost-crying face
Everyone you wished to have seen in your birthday was here. Mirajane, who brought in a strawberry birthday cake, Gray who stood in corner half naked while talking to Elfman, and Erza who glanced at the birthday cake, spoon and knife ready, positioning herself to pounce on it and get the first bite. It made you happy.
No Lucy or Natsu bothering you in this perfect day.

"Happy!" You called to the blue exceed, stuffing the last of your strawberry cake into your mouth, "I'm going to take a walk!"
"Aye!" He replied, "Don't stay out too late, (Y/n)!"
As you left, the warmth of the guild had left your body and was replaced with the coldness that winter had given. Your nose became red from the intense weather, and your hands were freezing cold, that you had to stuff them into the pockets of your snow jacket. Snowflakes stained your hair, and some managed to even get to your long eye lashes.
You walked around Magnolia, enjoying the view of Christmas lights that hung everywhere you went. To you, it was like the stars had fallen to earth, and was given the opportunity to light the darkness that loomed in the town.
When you passed by a certain building, you could have sworn to hear shouting coming from it. You were not sure if they were fighting.... or that they were...yeah. You ran your fingers through your brown locks, and heaved a sigh, a mist of your breath appearing from the cold weather. The feeling in your chest was heavy, and you could feel the pain emitting from it.
As you continued to walk away from the blonde hair mage's home, your feet lead you to the park of Magnolia.
Everywhere, trees had ribbons that were red, white or green...the leaves were covered with sparkling ornaments that reflected from the light the moon had given...the bushes were covered with Christmas lights, ranging from blue, white and red. The scenery to your eyes was very beautiful.

For hours, you sat at the bench, enjoying the scenery in your eyes. Although, it had felt empty... You were happy with how the guild had celebrated your birthday with you...but something was missing. Yes, you thought of Natsu, your childhood best friend. You wanted to enjoy the scenery with him, talking like old times when it was Christmas. It will make your birthday even more perfect...not to mention, this will be the first time both of you had seen the park of Magnolia like this.
