Te Amo (Blue Beetle x Reader)

Chapter Four

"It's all hands on deck. The League and the Team will hit all 14 Krolotean Zeta locations simultaneously. Your priorities are to destroy all Zeta-Tubes or platforms and search for any humans that aliens may have abducted." Nightwing explained as the team looked at each other as if challenging the other for alpha squad.

"As always, Mal is ops manager, - coordinating com from here." He continued as Lagoon Boy began mumbling to himself.

"Come on, alpha squad." He whispered to himself while Y/n laughed quietly as Nightwing announced Cassie and him were alpha squad.

"Yes!" Wonder Girl cheered as she punched the air.

"Neptune's beard!" Lagoon boy hissed.

"Assignment: Philadelphia." Nightwing's words faded away as Y/n leaned over to Jaime.

"I bet you two bags of Chicken Whizzies he's on gamma." She whispered and pointed to La'gaan, Jaime looked down at her.

"Aw come on! I was going to bet that side." He said as Y/n shrugged.

"You snooze you lose Reyes." She laughed silently as Jaime shook his head at her. Y/s/n then perked up at the mention of gamma squad.

"Robin, La'gaan, Beetle and Y/s/n, you're gamma. Prep the Bio-Ship, you're headed to New Orleans." Nightwing finished as Lagoon Boy began to mumble.

"Gamma always gets the soft gigs."

"New Orleans?" Y/n questioned with a smile.

"New Orleans." Jaime confirmed.

"I've never danced." Y/n joked.

"If I can mince, you can dance." Jaime joked back as the two shared a giggle and chuckle together about their references.

"So do you mind gamma?" Y/s/n asked as a pouting Lagoon Boy made his way to the Bio-Ship.

Jaime shrugged. "I don't find it bad, plus like La'gaan said, gamma always gets the soft gigs, which I'm okay with." He explained while Y/n nodded. The two began making their way towards the ship while Robin stayed behind to talk to Nightwing.

"Yes I am!" Jaime shouted out which made Y/n jump.

She gave him a look as he continued arguing with himself. "Does that thing ever shut up or...?"

"If only." Blue Beetle mumbled as they walked up the ramp of the ship.

"There is a house in New Orleans..." Y/n sang as she slumped into her seat.

"They call the Rising Su-"

"Y/n. That's the fifteenth time you've sang those lyrics." Robin groaned through clenched teeth.

"Those are the only lyrics I know." She said in amusement as Robin looked like he was about to explode.

"Just cool it before he goes boom." Lagoon Boy said bluntly as Jaime chuckled at the now frowning girl.

"He's right chica, remember last time?" He questioned as Y/n attempted to shoot up; only to be held back down by the seat belt.

"That was not my fault! How was I supposed to know he didn't like Fall Out Boy?" She defended as she stuck her tongue out at him.

Jaime snickered at the memory. Y/s/n, Robin, Blue Beetle and Wonder Girl were all on a mission, they were flying in in the ship when Y/n got bored and decided to start yelling out her favorite Fall Out Boy song. It startled Robin and the others, Cassie and Jaime just stared at her as she was getting told off by the red faced Boy Wonder.

"I don't think it's the fact he didn't like the band." Lagoon Boy snickered as Y/n mentally cursed Blue Beetle for bringing it up.

"Shut up! My voice is soothing." She mumbled as her face went red.

"Eh, sorry to say that it's not as soothing as you think." Jaime teased as Y/n just scrunched up her nose.

"Whatever you say screeching parrot." Lagoon Boy laughed as Y/s/n furrowed her eyebrows.

"I'd like to hear you do better!" She challenged as La'gaan just waved her statement off.

"I can do better then a parrot any day."

"Why you little-" Y/n summoned a tiny  thunder cloud that took it's place above La'gaan's head.

"I'm literally a fish." He said as he pointed to the cloud.

Y/n smirked as little beeds of ice began to fall from the cloud. Lagoon Boy let out hisses as he tried to shoo the cloud away. "Ow! Ow! Knock it off you demon spawn!" He yelled as Jaime shook his head at the smirking girl.

"I have no idea what you mean." Y/n played off innocently.

"Come on senorita, don't be like that." Jaime said as he looked at her.

"But he deserves it!" She said in a childish tone as Lagoon Boy still tried to get the cloud to move away.

"Guys-"

"Just get rid of the cloud chica." Jaime said as Y/n frowned.

"Guys-"

"Ugh fine! Just tell the fish to not insult my beautiful singing...okay that's a lie, I sound like a dying cat. But still." She said and at the wave of her hand the cloud disappeared.

"That hurt you little-"

"GUYS!" Robin interrupted Lagoon Boy as he pointed out the window.

"We're here." The remaining three looked out to see a construction sight, where a little shed sat in the middle of the piles of rubble.

"A tool shed?" Y/n questioned as she looked to Robin.

"Really, not enough room for one zeta-tube in there, I knew we got the soft gig!" Lagoon Boy complained.

"And yet, I'm strangely okay with that." Jaime said as he leaned back in his seat, not to Y/n's surprise, he soon began arguing with himself.

"Yes, I am! Yes, I am! Yes, I am!" He argued as Lagoon Boy gave him a weird stare.

"Ignore him." Y/n said as La'gaan then gave her a questioning look.

"Gamma squad to cave, we're in position." Robin said as a hologram of Mal appeared.

"Acknowledged, gamma. All Team squads and Justice League units are in place and ready. Go time." Mal said as we all nodded.

"Ugh, finally." Y/n complained as she unbuckled and stretched her arms.

"You say that like we have a job to do." Lagoon Boy mumbled as the ramp began to lower.

As the hatch opened the four jumped from the ship and onto the pile of rubble. Robin looked at Blue Beetle as if signaling him to do something. Jaime gave him a confused look, Y/n then elbowed him in the side as she gestured to the old tool shed. Jaime made an 'O' shape with his mouth before he looked at the tool shed. His arm formed into a gun as he shot the tool shed to pieces.

They all stood up. Lagoon Boy then lept off the pile and in front of where the use to be tool shed was. Y/n soon followed his lead as she hovered down next to him; examining the remaining pieces of the shed. "Congratulations Blue." La'gaan spoke as he kicked over a tool box.

"You took out an actual tool shed." He snickered as Jaime shrugged.

"The poor shed, he shall always be remembered." Y/n said as she kicked away pieces of wood.

"Did you just assume the sheds gender?" Lagoon Boy asked as Y/n shrugged.

"Gamma to Cave. There's no Zeta-Tube here. No Kroloteans, no hidden entrance." Robin said as he held up the tracker.

"Watchtower sensors still read trace of Zeta radiation from the site." Mal said as Robin looked down at the tracker again.

"Confirmed. But the radiation signature is coming from Below the waterline!" Robin said as he looked down at Lagoon Boy.

"You're up!" He called out as La'gaan nodded.
