Itachi perched on the highest building, looming over the citizens of the Uchiha Village, staring at the symbols that were posted on some parts of their bodies. Majority of the clan was innocent as a child but, there was a portion of his clan that were fueled with anger and resentment against Konoha. In the male's eyes, he questioned what the clan was even upset about. They had private land all owed to them selves, their was enough forestry for cover and training and they finally had the peace and quiet from the Hidden Leaf like they desired.

Although, part of him loathed the ANBU and the Uchiha Police Force, all because of the interrogation program they had specifically designed for Uchiha Shisui - his closest friend as a child. They were on the verge of breaking his cover for the Hidden Leaf.. or more like he was.

Itachi Uchiha was a possessive human being, despite his calm mindset and lifeless reactions. Since he was an odd child who always craved more for the future and himself, he tended to isolate himself to become stronger but, that's when Shisui stepped into his life choosing to support his dream and make the Uchiha Clan less hostile. Little did Itachi know, he had already gained strong feelings towards this boy but, barely knew it. His mind always juggled the unthinkable, multitasking mentally, physically and emotionally.

Uchiha Shisui, was one his top priorities. Keeping him and his little brother safe meant dearest to him.

"Itachi, you need to lay low for a while."

'No.'

"Itachi, how much further are you going to push yourself for me?"

'To the ends of the Earth if I have to.'

"Please, Itachi. You have a family. Don't worry yourself so much about me."

The ponytailed Uchiha placed his ANBU mask on his face and lept from rooftop to rooftop, making his way towards the Uchiha Police Headquarters [ U.P.H. ], ready to get himself sinned. He ignored the curious stares and exclamations that pointed him out for he could care less about people's opinions. In his mind, as long as you have a future you believe in, opinions are not needed.

"What the hell, Itachi?! Why can't you learn to be more careful?!", a somewhat disappointed male groaned, wrapping a freshly open wound on the younger's lower arm. It showed in his eyes.

His fucking eyes.

Even without the use of words or body language, the hidden sensitivity would always be exposed in the elder's onyx eyes. It showed so much life but, sadly, his beautiful hopeful eyes had already experienced the tortuous Hell that this world had to bring and he had already became a suspect to it - not like Itachi was any different. The younger Uchiha gazed longingly at the carve into his arm for it was deep and the open air was causing the cut to burn and dry up.

"Shisui.", Itachi only muttered out his name, feeling guilty about disappointing the one he trusted most.

Unfortunately, on one of their ANBU missions, four ninja from the Hidden Cloud were attempting to infiltrate Konoha by getting through the Uchiha Village but decided to take out Shisui first, since he was indeed stronger. Itachi was so caught up in protecting his elder, the rushing adrenaline in his veins  caused him not to realize the slit in his arm. Currently, the Hidden Cloud ninja were taken care of permanently.

"I could've handled them myself, you know. You shouldn't overwork yourself physically, Itachi.", Shisui scolded, tying a small knot for the bandage. "You've became so reckless these past few months."

"My apologies.", Itachi uttered out, close to a soft whisper.

Shisui shook his head, his fuzzy hair bobbing somewhat side to side. "No apologies, 'Tachi. Please.", he said, as a kind, warm smile brightened his lecture.

"Just work smarter, not harder."

Itachi entered the headquarters, the mask fully masking his identity as the same soldiers who interrogated his friend had their attention completely occupied.

"What the hell?! Who are you, kid!?", a woman hissed, grabbing her kunai from her pocket for defense. "What are you even doing here?!"

"To show you, this is the future I believe in."
