just like every other student, I was dreading the first day back. although, for completely different reasoning.
people hate it because it's learning. teachers. and homework. but for me it was about the students.
they pushed each other in halls, called each other mean things and I hate it.
I used to be one of them.
I used to be the one to wear high heels, I used to be bitchy, I used to call people out for their flaws. and then Amina Matthews started at St. Davidson.
she became the new queen bee, the one with the control.
she was the start of my anxiety.

"Elora, Dr. Matthews would like to see you sometime this week."
Yes, Dr. Haylee Matthews. Amina's mother and my therapist.
I couldn't tell her what really happened. I just blamed it on my mindset.
"I'll give her a call later today." She smiled.
"You know I'm always here for you, Lor." She smiled. I didn't like her smile. It was twisted. Full of secrets. "And if you ever feel like you can't talk to Haylee, you can always talk to me."
I didn't get time to respond, a gentle knock on the door disturbed our conversation.
"Hello, I'm sorry to interrupt but is Miss Vietta Crown anywhere to be seen?"
Vietta Crown. My best friend, my sister.
She was your typical rich girl, as all St. Davidson students were. With her bouncy blonde hair, designer hand bags and her extremely expensive taste in everything, she fitted right in.
"Not here, sorry Denise."
"Thank you anyways." She turned to me with that same twisted smile Mrs Crown always wore. "And Elora, if you see her please send her my way."
"Will do."
Both ladies headed to the door, whispering.
They were awfully loud. I could hear everything.
"Doctor said she's going downhill."
"Has she taken her medication?"
"When will she be normal again?"
Questions, questions. But no answers, for even I didn't quite know myself.
