10 years old

“Violet. Honey come inside” My grandmother yelled out the window.

“But Granny it’s about to snow!” I pouted. “Please”

I batted my eyelashes.

I’m pretty sure my grandmother thought I was imagining things because she final gave in.

Not even minutes late a snowflake land on my nose.

I giggled to myself thinking this is the best feeling in the world. happiness was all I felt.

The next day Granny woke me up saying to get ready. We had guest coming over.

I changed out of my pajamas and into a Pink skirt and white polo.

I walked downstairs and into the kitchen. I always loved the kitchen especially when granny baked her famous triple dog dare cookies.

She would put them in one of her many cookie jars.

I would have to guess which cookie jar it was in.

I walked over to her red cookie jar,

but I couldn’t reach it so i climbed on the counter and opened the lid.

Inside laid the cookies. I licked my lips and took on of the cookies.

“Violet you better not be eating those cookies.” Granny said as she walked into the kitchen.

Behind granny stood a tall man with brown hair. “Oppies. I’m sorry. It was calling me. saying eat me.” I pouted.

The man behind granny started laughing. “Charlie stop laughing” granny yelled at the man.

“why? she reminds me you When we were younger.” the guys charlie retorted.

“You’re charlie? Granny I thought you said charlie was a old ugly troll.” I asked confused.

Charlie turned to Granny and flashed a smile.

“Violet why don’t you go outside. Charlie brought over his nephew and his friends.”

Granny said as her eyes flashed with anger  “Granny. Are you mad at me? I’m sorry.” I said in a small voice as my eyes water.

I ran out of the kitchen.

“Vivi!” granny yelled out my name, but I kept running.

I finally stopped running when i reached my tree house.

I always went there when I was sad or mad. My father built it when I was a baby.

He said the only people who know about it was my mom and him.

We would so much fun up there. I climbed tree and opened the latch that opened the tree house door.

Tears streamed down my face as I crawled inside. I grabbed the blanket i kept up there and went to sleep.
