                                                                                           Friday

It was Friday after school. I was day-dreaming, walking along the sidewalk, realizing that Riley was ahead of me. "Riley, wait up!" I caught my breath as I tugged on Riley's hoodie. She laughed it off. "Wanna head to Starbucks?" Riley asked. I nodded my head, just because it was a few blocks away.

We had our drinks. I slurped my caramel frappe as I was scrolling through my phone.

"Harper! You're never going to believe this!" Riley giggled. I peered over looking through her phone.

"Finn Wolfhard is looking for a math tutor!" Riley smiles, grinning from ear to ear.

"Wow! You're thinking about joining?" I asked. I didn't really care for celebrities, but Riley on the other hand was known for that. I love that about her.

"No, silly! You should find something to fan-girl over, you need this! Plus, you're great at math," she pleaded.

I countered, stubbornly, "Um, what about school?" "C'mon! Today's Friday, the whole next week of school is off. Spring break, remember?" Riley replied.

"My parents?" I slurped my caramel frappe and threw it in the trash. We walked out the door.

"Well, isn't your mom going on a business trip to New York-"

"Wait, Finn's in New York?" I asked. "Yeeah! You gotta go!" Riley chirped.

"Uhm, and I have been waiting to go to New York for awhile, so, I guess, I'll give it a try," I smiled.

"Yay!" Riley twirled around happily. "Bye!" I waved. She waved back and we both went our separate ways. I shook my head walking home, happily.

Mom didn't know I was going to be tutoring Finn. Well, I wasn't, yet. Also, I don't plan on telling her. Oh, hey, Mom! I wanna go to New York so I can tutor a celebrity! That would be bizarre. I saw my house a block away. I walked along the sidewalk, realizing how silent it is, (well besides the neighbor's dog which is a little French Bulldog who was a year old) I arrived at my house and opened the door to see Mom reading some magazines on her phone.

"Mom! I have a reeally important question for you," I began. She raised her head, putting her focus on me.

"So, I have been wanting to go the Big Apple for sometime now, and you are going to your business trip, tomorrow; and I was wondering- can I go with you on your trip please? I won't bother you, or anything. Just, pleease let me go?" I begged.

"If you would like to come with me, I don't see why not," Mom smiled and continued reading magazines on her phone.

"Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you!" I gushed. I planted a kiss on Mom's forehead and gave her a tight squeeze.

"Then you gotta pack-"

"Of course!" I beamed. I ran to my room and may have slammed the door, but that didn't matter. I skimmed through my phone to find iMessage.

Me: Riley! My Mom said, YES!

Riley: OOF, really????

Me: We're heading off tomorrow and coming back on next Saturday. Wait- You should come!

Me: Jack might be there.

Riley: You're right! I'm there!!

I laughed. "Mom! Is it okay if Riley comes with us?" I yelled.

"Sure if it's okay with her mom," She yells back.

"Yes!" I celebrate aloud. I began to dance (not a good one).

I staggered to my closet and began throwing some clothes out and packing all my stuff. I grabbed my earbuds, math binder, anything I could possibly need. I grabbed my book It by Stephen King and stuffed it in my luggage. I heaved my luggage onto the floor. I sat my butt on the luggage and pulled the zipper until it closed. I sighed. I couldn't wait for tomorrow.

I looked on my Instagram and I decided to try and attempt to text Finn.

@ happyharper: you looking for a tutor?

I just stared down at my phone and sighed. I guess if he didn't answer, I would just have to go there in person. I exhaled mentally and tossed my phone onto my bed. As I walked out the door, I heard a ding.
