I checked my costume as did my mom who patted me on the head and hugged me tightly. "You look adorable, (Y/n)", my mom complimented as she softly smiled at me as I hugged back.

"Thank you!"

She sighed, "You be careful, (Y/n)! " And thus a series of warnings and rules were said and went right past me, "And Brian should be here soon to walk you over to the park where your friends are," she finished.

"I know!" Ah, she trusted Brian more than any other of my friends. Even if we are just kids.

"I know you know," she laughed softly and pleasantly, "Now you be good, (Y/n), Goodbye and be safe!" She kissed my forehead before I excitedly ran through the back door since it was the closest exit. As I ran out of the patio, I was about to turn a corner of a bush when-

"Boo!"

"Ah!" I yelped as I jumped back and tripped into the dewy grass.

"Haha, you are so easy to scare, (Y/n)!"

"No!"

"Haha, Scardy Cat!"

"Shut up, Brian!" I crossed my arms and stuck out my tongue.

"Aye? How'd you know it was me?" Brian asked as he took off the Scream mask.

"I know your voice from anywhere!" I smirked with stuck out my tongue.

Brian pouted as he ruffled his light brown hair. "Well, we should be going! Candy awaits!"

"Yup! I wish Halloween lasted all year!" I said as I fixed my purple costume dress and plastic tiara.

"Me too! I could be a killer like in the movies all the time!"

I chuckled, "I'm not too sure about that. Mum, would probably not appreciate that! Plus, you're only nine!"

"Haha, well it's getting pretty dark so let's go find Alex and Jay!" Brian smiled a toothy smile as he took (Y/n)'s hand.

"By the way, Brian, what were you doing behind my house?"

"Waiting for you!"

"Behind my house?"

"Yup!"

"Okay then, let's go!"

As we were about to get going, Brian looked at me and smiled as he then said, "I almost forgot! Here!" He dug into his orange stiff bag that already had some pieces of candy in it and brought out something plastic and flat.

"Oooh, what is it!"

"A mask!"

"For what?"

"You!" He chirped as he handed over the black, plastic mask.

"Ooh, it's so cool!" It was a black mask with some yellow detail and patterns. "Kind of like a bee or maybe those nasty looking wasp!"

"Yup! I thought it looked cool and I wanted to buy it for you!" he chuckled and smiled purely as I did.

"Thank you!" I chirped and tried the mask on. "But, um, Brian, I'm supposed to be a purple princess."

"Well, now you will be a cool princess! Maybe a Wasp Princess!" he joked cheekily, "Or, maybe my princess!" He remarked with his hand out in a gentleman way you would see in classic films.

"Eww, that's older kid stuff!" I pushed him away gently and jokingly. He accepted the rejection and shrugged like it was nothing. "Let's just get going to Alex and Jay! They're waiting for us anyways!"

"Okie dokie, my princess!" He laughed.

"Nooooo, stop, Brian, that's weird!" I stuck out my tongue as he and I trotted off to the sidewalk where Brian joined me. "So, where's the park?"

"Oh, it's close by, just follow me, Princess!" Brian smirked cheekily.

"Stahhhppp, Brian!"

(Honestly, I forgot how nine-year-olds act. Short, but it's one of my first few one-shots! :D)
