"So- y/n" Chase tapped his fingers on the table top, some of the other girls who were sitting at nearby tables were already eyeing him up. Can you blame them? Who wouldnt be weak for the hot and charismatic new guy. "What you working on"

"Oh im just looking for some references material for the history assignment , Reid's invited me to stay over at his dorm tonight to finish it up so i wanted to try make sure i have some notes to contribute."

"Ah really," Chase clenched his jaw a little, damn you reid you sly bastard. This was bad, this was really bad. So many things could happen in one night and if Y/n was going to be at Reid's dorm that whole night- none of those things would be good things.

Chase needed to do something about it, and fast...

A little over two hours passed before y/n got up from her seat, stacking up a notes and research folders and tucking her cardigan and stationary into her bag.

Chase's eyes trailed onto her every movement.
The kind of look you'd give when youre at a restaurant, waiting for your food to be served and the waiters keep walking past you with someone else's food.

Despite having spent the last couple periods silently pretending to study as an excuse to be near y/n, Chase couldn't get enough of her.

"Ah, I've gotta go wash up and catch up with my roomate before girls night tonight." Y/n pushed in the heavy wooden chair and flashed Chase a close-mouthed smile. "See you around campus?"

"Y/n wait a minute-" Chase latched his grip onto her wrist, not wanting to have to watch her leave him.
She whipped her head back to face him, an eyebrow cocked upwards, evidently quite shocked by his movement. Chase felt his ears heat up.  "Uhm, the tryouts for the State Swim team tournament is this weekend, am i gonna see you there?"

Y/n's initial stun soon subsided as all her focus on  leaving the library and returning to her dorm were soon displaced  by her pre-occupation of holding eye-contact with Chase without drowning in his stare.

"oh yeah! Reid actually already invited me to watch you guys, I'll be cheering you from the bleachers" Chase suffered a comradely pat on the upper arm, and reluctantly, he watched her walk away.

"thats fine." he reassured himself internally, eyes turned downwards while dragging his fingers across the seat that y/n got up from. Caleb was right after all, he had to get things set in motion with Y/n or that dollar store draco malfoy AKA Reid might break ground before he does. "she wont be walking away for long."

and he was right. Reid was good, but Chase, not only was Chase better,  he was Badder..
