Instead of separating at the main hall like we normally would, Jake insisted on walking me to my room. We walked in a comfortable silence. Well on the outside it was silence; his words kept replaying in my head.

He loves me!?

"Des? You heard me?" his voice pulled me out of my thoughts.

"Huh?" I answered very brilliantly.

He laughed and brought the hand not holding mine to my head and knocked lightly three times.

"Anyone home?"

"Nope. Because if there was, she definitely would not be dating you."

We turned toward the voice and saw Lacey coming up the pathway with bags in her hands.

"Hey hon. I just went to Target and bought our room some hella awesome stuff!" She told me excitedly.

Then she turned to Jake and thrust the bags into his arms saying, "Make yourself useful would ya?"

She turned back to me again and gestured with her hands for me to follow her. "Come on Dessy. There are more bags in the car and Rob has work."

My eyebrows went up at the mention of Rob. He was a stocky guy probably about 6'2". He was also our next door neighbor who took an interest to Lacey as soon as we moved in.

"And may I ask why Rob is helping you?" I said with my lips pursed.

She just rolled her eyes and laughed, "He's being a good friend."

When I didn't find that answer satisfactory she blushed and shook her head. "Just grab some bags."

I laughed and started walking closer to Jake and my hall entrance. "Just let me open up our room for Jake so he can put whatever is in these bags down."

"Just hurry up." She scoffed and walked away.

Lacey Johnson was an honest to god sweetheart. She looked like a fairy with her short blonde hair and brown eyes. Her slightly pointed nose and perfectly white teeth only added to her resemblance to Tinkerbell. Her step held a bounce and she had enough grace for both of us. With her long legs and petite frame she could have been a ballerina. Everyone she meets loves her and gets along with her- except for Jake.

I asked if they had a past but Jake would brush it off as impossible and Lacey would just constantly mime throwing up. So I let it go and just accepted the fact that they would never get along. I refused to choose between my best friend of four months and my boyfriend of two.

I grabbed a light bag from Jake and swiped my id to get us into the building. We started our path upstairs to the third floor and I stumbled with the keys until I found the right one. Pushing the door open I directed Jake pass our common room directly to my room to the right of the suite door. I opened the door and gestured around the room.

"Just drop them anywhere, apparently there's a whole trunk full mor-." I was cut off because Jake grabbed me and started kissing me.

His arms snaked around my waist as he pulled me closer. I put my hands on his chest to push him away but the words he spoke earlier replayed in my head.

"I would say get a room, but you already have one. Care to share Destiny?" a female voice called out.

I turned to the owner of the voice that had us break away and saw my bitch of a suitemate Kelsey at my door.

As sweet as Lacey is, Kelsey is the opposite. She had a fake tan, fake bottle blonde hair, fake nails, and only wore name brand clothes. She was currently sporting a pink mini skirt that barely covered anything with a white floral top that was so low cut I was able to see the top of her lace blue bra. Despite it being a windy October day, she was also wearing a pair of nude peep toe heels.
