Blood and Dust

"WOOL you come in? Its cold out here!!" he said grinning a wide smile from ear to ear. You couldn't help but laugh. Sans put his jacket around your shoulders and hugged you, helping you up off the curb.

"Come on, lets go inside and I'll make you some coco"

Papyrus still wasn't home which was odd to you, because you hadn't seen him for a while. Sans reassured you that he went to that sleepover he told you about at Alphys' house with Undyne. But... wasn't Alphys out of town?

*You went to bed*

It was early the next morning and you know you never get up this early. The snow was slisming and the flowers were glowing their blue hue, whispering things that have been said before. Clumps of snow fell from the tops of the trees as you passed by. The crunch of the snow beneath your feet seemed faint compared to the drumming of your heart.

The river... There was Brail, waiting for you. Your stomach turned and you felt sick; something didn't feel right.

"Hello..." He said grinning "Thank you for agreeing to meet me here to talk"

A frown pulls the corners of your mouth "Just..." you sigh "What do you want?"

Brail took a step closer to you and brushed the back of his hand against your cheek, then cupped your face in his palm. "Oh (Y/N)... I must warn you about Sans and Papyrus."

There was a pounding in your head, unease knotting your insides. It became harder to breathe...

"W-What about them?" You stuttered. Wow, Reaaaally chill sounding (y/n), perfectly calm.

Brail's eyes fastened on yours, and yours did too, locking gazes. In his big longing eyes, glistening like stained glass, you could read his worry like a chapter of a fanfiction...

"Long ago, two races ruled over the Earth: HUMANS and MONSTERS..." He went on to tell you a blood-drenched story between monsters and humans, a war. Other humans had come down here, they were killed, they had killed. Chara... the girl in the woods... she had killed Papyrus in a previous life... and so had another named Frisk... both corrupt little girls. Both had to be.... both were.... you couldn't even fathom it.

"So... S-Sans is...?"

"Yes... He is a murderer." Brail stated, blank faced. As if it meant NOTHING to him. How could it mean nothing?!!! IT WAS SANS!!!!

"Rather-" He continued "He is capable of murder... he is more attached to the monsters than humans..."

Silence befell you both... he continued to speak. "Everyone was made to forget, everything  had been reset to how it was... When I came down here, I heard from the glowing blue flowers of the war..."

"Really?"

"Yes... and then I studied necromancy and made a potion to make me a monster...to help me get away, disappear... encased in this-" He showed the black briar ring he wore on his finger "-and If you want one, want to disappear... I can make you one too".

Brail took off his ring, revealing his human form. Nearly white-blond hair, one blue eye one red, and a muscular build. He reached for your hand and held it, making you blush. "Come with me (y/n)... we're the only humans down here. If we run, we might survive!" He nodded, as if doing so might win him a yes.

"Brail I-" You both stopped as you heard a twig snap behind you. Brail gasps and takes a step back, fear flashing in his eyes.

Your heart drops when you see him standing there, covered in blood and monster dust. An orange-red scarf wrapped around his neck, covered also.

"...Sans"
